The flavors here really won over both of us. At this price point, the meat quality is truly impressive, and with unlimited refills of the braised beef sauce, you can really eat to your heart's content.

Although there are similar options at the same price like Yokohama Steak at Nanjing Breeze, personally I prefer 炙り庵steak牛排 for the meat quality relative to the price.

How to Get to 炙り庵steak牛排 Minquan Store

MRT: Take the Taipei MRT Wenhu Line (Brown Line) and get off at "Zhongshan Junior High School Station". It's about a 3-minute walk from the exit.

Walking route: After exiting the station, walk along Sec. 3, Minquan E. Rd. toward Lane 60, enter Lane 60, then turn into Alley 3 to reach the store.

Stepping into 炙り庵steak牛排 Minquan Store feels like entering a Japanese-style eatery in the middle of the city.

The simple, bright space with warm wooden tables and chairs, paired with the aroma of steak wafting from the open kitchen, instantly puts you at ease and makes your mouth water.

The moment you walk in, the scent of grilled steak hits you. Since the kitchen and dining area share the same space, the aroma is quite strong at first.

However, after sitting for a while, the oily smoke smell can feel a bit heavy, especially when a neighboring table's steak is served and the hot oil smoke rises instantly—it can feel greasy.

Dine-in includes unlimited sparkling drinks, coffee, and tea. Although ice cream isn't included, you can enjoy Mei Li Guo slushies.

In addition to unlimited drinks, unlimited French fries, miso soup, and beef lu sauce with white rice are also provided.

The beef lu sauce is a must-try here. The beef chunks are generous and not just scraps.

It's the star of the self-service bar and a "rice killer" in many diners' hearts.

The flavor is truly different from braised pork. Scooping a spoonful over rice is incredibly delicious.

This beef lu sauce is slow-cooked with beef, beef tendons, and other cuts, blended with soy sauce, scallions, ginger, and spices for multiple layers of flavor.

The broth is rich and aromatic. It has a natural beefy fragrance, savory yet not greasy, and pairs especially well with rice, making you want bowl after bowl.

You can often find solid chunks of beef in the lu sauce—substantial texture with visible fibers and sweetness.

This method differs from traditional Taiwanese braised pork rice; the beef aroma is more pronounced, fat is evenly distributed, and each bite delivers sauce flavor along with the meat's natural sweetness and gelatinous texture.

Beef lovers will definitely devour this lu sauce pairing.

As for the unlimited French fries, I think they're optional—they don't have much character or advantage. The only plus is that they're not overly greasy.

The menu at the entrance really caught our attention—we were excited to see purebred old Wagyu.

This time we ordered the aged tender shoulder steak and the diaphragm steak.

This cut has moderate movement, resulting in firm yet tender meat. The thin tendon in the center is the unique signature of blade tendon—it determines whether the beef is delicious.

The surface is seared to a golden crisp, with a slight char aroma that enhances the meat's sweetness. The store seems to sous-vide the beef first before searing it on the griddle.

Cutting into the aged tender shoulder steak reveals a pink hue, with juices slowly flowing out.

The first bite delivers the fine tenderness unique to blade tendon, followed by a slight springiness from the central membrane.

With every chew, the beef's sweetness and fat aroma unfold in layers. This tender-yet-chewy texture satisfies the pursuit of delicacy while letting you feel the meat's primal strength.

Plus, this aged tender shoulder steak is really thick—one slice of the whole piece feels incredibly satisfying in the mouth.

Simply seasoned with sea salt, black pepper, or house sauce, the beef's natural flavor takes center stage.
