Aru Mom is actually quite picky about food (unlike me XD), so often when taking mom out and asking what she wants to eat, after circling around we still choose 時時香 SHANN RICE BAR! Because she feels SHANN RICE BAR dishes have consistent quality, we unknowingly visited three times in a row. This cross-cuisine Chinese restaurant affiliated with Wa Cheng Taitong Group perfectly fuses the essences of Taiwanese, Sichuan, and Hunan cuisines; every dish is a super rice-paired godsend.

This month is Aru’s birthday month. Just join the Wa Cheng Group membership to receive a birthday discount coupon. Enjoy a big meal and save money at the same time—super worthwhile! ((ha)) So Aru has visited the Dream Mall, Hanshin Arena, and Shinkong Zuoying branches. The dishes below weren’t all eaten in one go, but let’s share them with everyone!!

SHANN RICE BAR Must-Order Delicacies! Menu Highlights

3.5-Cup Chicken：The secret “0.5 cup” beyond traditional three-cup chicken is the Hua Diao wine drizzled along the pot edge when served, paired with crispy special rice blood and boneless chicken thigh. The aroma is intoxicating and the flavor penetrates deeply.

Taiwan Sugarcane Shrimp：100% pure shrimp paste wrapped around fresh sugarcane sticks and fried to golden crisp. Every bite is bursting with sweet shrimp flavor. After eating you can chew the sugarcane and suck out the sweet juice—kids and adults love it.

Grandma’s Braised Pork Belly：Pork belly stewed until melt-in-your-mouth tender, fatty yet not greasy, paired with savory dried tofu and peanuts. Pour the sauce over hot rice and you’ll finish a whole bowl in seconds.

Tender Scallion Stir-Fried Beef：Thick-cut tender beef with sauce and abundant scallion aroma, perfectly cooked—excellent with rice.

Hunan-Style Cured Pork with Cabbage：Salty Hunan cured pork brings out the natural sweetness of cabbage. Quick stir-fry over high heat creates an irresistible wok aroma—crisp and refreshing.

Dry-Fried Green Beans：Green beans stir-fried until fragrant yet still juicy, tossed with special minced meat and wood ear mushrooms—savory and appetizing.

One Jar of Fragrance：A soup slow-simmered with various Chinese herbs and premium ingredients. The broth is sweet and mellow; one bowl leaves you feeling refreshed and warms the stomach.

Gold & Silver Mantou：Steamed and fried mantou that are crispy outside and soft inside, dipped in rich condensed milk—pure happiness as a dessert.

Unlimited Soul Rice! Golden Sweet Potato Rice $48/person

If you’re a rice lover like Aru, you absolutely cannot miss the amazing Golden Sweet Potato Rice at SHANN RICE BAR. The rice is cooked grain by grain, chewy and distinct, mixed with sweet soft sweet potato chunks that give a subtle sweet aroma even when eaten plain.

Although it costs NT$48 per person, which feels a bit pricey, you can refill unlimited bowls! Faced with a table of heavy-flavored dishes that pair perfectly with rice, you’ll easily go for two or three extra bowls. Rice fans will definitely feast here!

Signature Drinks (Sugarcane Four Seasons Green Tea / Pineapple Iced Tea)：The refreshing sugarcane Four Seasons green tea carries a light cane fragrance and tea notes; the pineapple iced tea lets you taste slightly sweet-tart fruit pieces—perfect for cutting through rich dishes.
