However, after heating, the enzyme loses its activity, so when pineapple is made into fillings, jams, or cooked dishes, this sensation usually does not occur.

In Taiwanese culture, pineapple also carries special symbolic meaning. Because in the Minnan dialect, the pronunciation of "pineapple" is similar to "Ong-lai," it is often seen as a symbol of good fortune, prosperity, and wealth. Whether for opening a store, moving house, or important festivals, pineapples are often seen as auspicious blessings.
