I usually love all kinds of QQ-textured foods, and chewy dishes like ban tiao, rice noodles, and rice cakes always attract me.

While searching for Guishan gourmet spots recently, I unexpectedly found "Li Dazui Shaanxi Liangpi," which specializes in authentic Shaanxi cuisine. After seeing many netizens recommend their handmade Liangpi, I was instantly hooked and decided to pay a visit.

Li Dazui Shaanxi Liangpi has two branches in Guishan: the main store on Dahu Road and the Linkou Chang Gung branch.

We visited the Dahu Road main store this time. The location is a bit hidden, and when the navigation approached the destination, I even suspected I had taken a wrong turn because the shop is tucked away in an alley, with an exterior that resembles a work shed or converted iron-sheet house. Without prior research, it would be hard to imagine a popular Shaanxi restaurant hidden here.

There is parking space at the entrance, which is very convenient for drivers. When we arrived, we hesitated slightly at the appearance, but since we were already there, we decided to go in and try it. The business was quite good, with many customers arriving during the meal, and it was clear many were regulars, showing the shop has built a loyal local following.

The interior is not overly decorated, focusing on simplicity and practicality. The environment is clean and bright, with limited seating, creating a relaxed dining atmosphere.

The menu is mainly divided into three categories: main dishes, side dishes, and drinks.

Main dishes: In addition to the classic Shaanxi Liangpi, there are variations like beef belly, shredded chicken, and century egg tofu. Sweet-spicy and sesame sauce lovers can choose Taiwanese double sauce or Shaanxi sesame sauce. Popular items also include traditional Roujiamo and low-fat cheese Roujiamo.

Side dishes: Sichuan mouth-watering chicken, red oil smoked pig ears, and cold-dressed mouth-watering gluten are all classic Shaanxi and Sichuan-style cold appetizers.

Great Value Deal: With any Liangpi main dish, add a drink for just NT$10 (choose from winter melon tea, iced milk tea, winter melon milk tea, or miso soup). Single drinks are only NT$20!

That day we ordered shredded chicken Liangpi, Sichuan mouth-watering chicken, traditional Roujiamo, and winter melon milk tea. The first thing that caught the eye when the dishes arrived was the shredded chicken Liangpi, with sauce served on the side.

The staff specially reminded us to taste the original flavor first, then pour in the sauce and mix, and finally add chili oil to taste.

The Liangpi itself has an excellent texture—thick yet bouncy, with a smooth chew. Every bite conveys the solid handmade quality. The toppings are also abundant, including shredded chicken, cucumber strips, carrot strips, cilantro, fried peanuts, and handmade gluten, creating a distinctive multi-layered mouthfeel.

The sauce carries a light garlic and tangy aroma. Once mixed well, it is very appetizing. Adding chili oil elevates the fragrance further, with mild spiciness and numbing aroma that makes it hard to stop eating.

The Sichuan mouth-watering chicken was equally impressive. The chicken is tender and pairs perfectly with the numbing-spicy sauce and crushed peanuts, delivering rich aroma. Though it has some heat, it is not overwhelming and becomes more addictive with each bite.

Those who enjoy bold flavors will definitely love this dish.

The traditional Roujiamo is like a Shaanxi-style hamburger. The outer flatbread has a slight crispiness, while the inside holds flavorful braised meat filling. The meat and bread aromas blend perfectly, delivering great satisfaction with every bite.

For the drink, we chose winter melon milk tea, which pairs well with the bold Shaanxi dishes. The add-on discount also makes the overall value excellent.

What surprised me most about dining at Li Dazui Shaanxi Liangpi was not only the deliciously bouncy Liangpi but also the hidden location. Tucked away in an unassuming alley and work-shed building, it attracts many regulars with its authentic Shaanxi flavors. Especially the first taste of such chewy Liangpi, combined with the aromatic sauce and chili oil, left a deep impression.
