This year, Mutsu cherry blossoms bloomed particularly early, so we arrived at Kitakami Senshochi just in time for the end of the cherry blossom viewing season.
Although we missed the densest cherry blossom tunnel, strolling among the scattered petals is another kind of scenery.
Before coming, I had been thinking about whether there would be a chance to find this park. Unexpectedly, I saw it from far away on the tour bus, which was super exciting. After getting off, I headed straight to Geodude Park!
Why Geodude?
Because Iwate Prefecture's name includes 'rock' and 'hand', so Geodude is Iwate Prefecture's応援 Pokémon!
A super huge Onix and rock-type partners, even the benches are Pikachu, one side is a female Pikachu with a heart-shaped tail, the other is male, and there's a Geodude-shaped swing.
Although the cherry blossoms will wither, Geodude Park won't, turning this trip to the north into a perfect memory!
If you also like Pokémon, be sure to add this to your plans for next spring!✋🧱
