This year's cherry blossoms bloomed early, and upon arriving in Kakunodate, it was already the end of the cherry blossom viewing season.
I originally thought I would be greeted by a city full of lush green, but unexpectedly, this old town still had a few cherry blossom trees, as if persisting for late-arriving travelers, so we wouldn't return empty-handed.
