Bitcoin (BTC) is currently repeating a similar price pattern from the 2022 bull market cycle, when Bitcoin prices plunged to $20,000. Market expert Crypto Bullet points out that this cyclical fluctuation may signal another significant pullback for Bitcoin. However, this time, the leading cryptocurrency could lose nearly a quarter of its current value.
2022 Bitcoin Chart Pattern Signals Over 20% Drop
In an analysis posted on X, Crypto Bullet noted that Bitcoin is currently replaying its 2022 price action, which could lead to a decline of more than 20%. To support his bearish view, the analyst provided a comparison chart showing Bitcoin’s price movements in 2022-2023 versus 2025-2026, highlighting similar technical patterns, price behavior, and moving averages (MA).
In the 2022 cycle, Bitcoin experienced a similar move, first testing the 100-day moving average (MA100), shown as the blue trend line in the chart. After facing resistance at that level, the price pulled back to a nearby support zone within the ascending channel. Bitcoin then staged a strong rebound, surging to a new high near $48,500, aligning with the 200-day moving average (MA200) marked in orange.
However, the rebound was short-lived. Bitcoin quickly reversed, failing to reclaim support above the 200-day MA. Once the cryptocurrency’s price structure broke down, selling momentum accelerated, driving prices sharply lower toward the $20,000 area.
According to Crypto Bullet’s forecast, Bitcoin will repeat this pattern in 2026. It has already retested the 100-day MA, faced rejection, and dropped to a similar support zone within the ascending channel. The chart also shows that in both cycles, Bitcoin reached a “market cycle top”—first around December 2023 and again around November 2025—before declining into consolidation phases.

Given that Bitcoin’s current price action closely mirrors the 2022 pattern, Crypto Bullet predicts another sharp decline, expecting the price to fall more than 23.5% from the current level near $89,500 to $68,450. Before the drop occurs, the analyst anticipates a short-term rebound, with Bitcoin potentially climbing back above the psychologically important $100,000 level to reach $102,000.
Bitcoin Still Has Potential to Rise to $92,000
Cryptocurrency analyst Tyrex noted that Bitcoin has been consolidating over the past 48 hours, with prices mostly holding above $89,000. Despite the quiet price action, he believes Bitcoin could soon rebound toward $92,000. The analyst also pointed out that the broader market is currently in a state of fear, with many traders expecting further downside.
However, the analyst cautioned that the anticipated drop may be a trap. He noted that an ascending channel is forming on the Bitcoin chart, leading him to maintain a more bullish outlook despite the prevailing pessimistic sentiment and sideways price action.
