This 豐八美食館 was accidentally discovered by Fen Yuan
It's right by the Alishan Highway, a very large place
There's also a dedicated parking lot across the street, which is really important for dining in the Shizhuo area!
The store has a large interior space, all large round tables,
So we three people got a huge table....haha
There are quite a few dishes here; compared to nearby restaurants, it has relatively more variety
The chili here is made with chili + pickled vegetables + fermented black beans,
Super fragrant; friends who love spicy food must try it
1. Wasabi Mountain Spring Tofu (small): NT$100
This tofu has great flavor, with a light wasabi taste and slight spiciness,
It's a specialty dish in this area and very appetizing
The only downside is... it's not fresh wasabi, otherwise it would be even more fragrant
2. Stir-fried Large Peas: NT$200
This dish is also a winter-limited vegetable, very sweet and crisp,
This restaurant stir-fries it with pickled mustard greens, giving it more flavor and making it great with rice
3. Stir-fried Wild Boar Meat: NT$250
When it arrived at the table, we were a bit surprised because the portion is huge,
Topped with plenty of Chinese broccoli, and underneath is an abundance of wild boar meat
It looks very light, but is actually stir-fried with satay sauce—another rice killer
4. Bitter Tea Oil Chicken: NT$250
Because there were few of us, the proprietress specially prepared an extra-small portion for us
The ginger slices are fried super crispy, just like salt-crispy chicken—super fragrant and perfect to eat with rice
The chicken is a bit dry, but the subtle tea oil aroma is very appealing
5. Taiwanese Pickled Vegetables: Complimentary
The proprietress even served a plate of sour and crispy pickled vegetables, which is very appetizing
6. Post-meal Dessert: Aiyu Mountain Taro Balls
Alishan produces plenty of aiyu; many shops on Fenqihu Old Street also sell it
A small cup costs 40 yuan, but here the proprietress treats you directly—very generous
The aiyu is very chewy, the mountain taro balls are smooth, and it's not too sweet—a refreshing dessert
This restaurant is truly recommended
Has parking, delicious flavors, reasonable prices, and even complimentary post-meal dessert~~
The proprietress also recommends dishes based on the number of people, so you won't over-order!!
