Coming to Iya, one of Japan's three great hidden gems, besides the Kazurabashi Bridge, there are also the beautiful Oboke and Koboke gorges. This time, we took the Oboke Gorge sightseeing boat to explore the beauty of the Yoshino River.

The upper deck of the Oboke Gorge sightseeing boat has a restaurant, which is the Oboke Gorge Mannaka Restaurant. After the boat ride, we can dine here.

The brochure has a simple guided introduction. It is said that Oboke means walking big steps is dangerous, and Koboke means walking small steps is also dangerous. It's a straightforward and pleasant name.

Besides some vendors, the signs also clearly mark the route to the boat boarding area.

After eating, there's still time to browse the souvenir shop.

To be honest, walking to the boat is quite a distance, winding around indoors.

Once outside, it turns into a stone walkway.

Through the gaps, you can see the beautiful lake-blue river water.

Paired with the gorges on both sides, it's truly a hidden gem of beauty.

There are also carp streamers hanging above.

The water flow isn't very rapid.

When we took the sightseeing boat, there was still a line to wait, enjoying the riverside scenery.

The river channel gradually narrows, about to enter Koboke, but we won't go in and will turn back instead, because the water in Koboke is even more rapid.

The strange rocks and boulders on both sides have been eroded to look like they've been cut with a knife, which is really interesting.
