This time, I went with my vegetarian model friend to Nangang to find delicious food and unexpectedly discovered a hidden spot in the alley with a strong local vibe called “136 Healthy Vegetarian”!💚
It really feels like the “first shop in the alley” 🤣
Just a short walk into Nangang Road Section 1, Lane 136, you can find it. No flashy decor, but it has a very friendly, traditional Taiwanese vegetarian snack shop feel.

When we saw the prices around 55-65 TWD, we thought it would be a regular snack portion, but when the food arrived, I was stunned:
“This bowl is way too big!!!”
Especially the vegetarian meat soup noodles—super huge bowl! 🍜
Filled with thick soup, noodles, and toppings, it looks super satisfying. The soup has that classic Taiwanese old-school flavor I love—no need for expensive ingredients or fancy plating, just simple, hot, and comforting.
For me, this is the kind of vegetarian snack spot I’d want to revisit.
Eating out in Taipei isn’t cheap these days—over 100 TWD per meal is normal. Finding this kind of budget-friendly, generous vegetarian spot in Nangang made me and my vegetarian friend super happy! 😂💕

Icy unsweetened black tea paired with hot meat soup noodles is a perfect match. I already love unsweetened drinks, and after finishing one cup I quietly wanted another.
By the end, I even joked:
“I wish I could just bring a thermos to fill up!” 😂😂😂
Just kidding, of course! Everyone should still be polite customers (laughs).
What attracts me most to these small shops is that they don’t have the flashy vibe of Instagram restaurants—they feel like real Taiwanese daily life.
Open in the morning, busy cooking bowl after bowl of noodles at lunch. Office workers, locals, and vegetarians walk in, spend less than 100 TWD, and enjoy a proper meal.
This is the “people’s vegetarian” I love.
