In the fast-paced rhythm of modern society, people’s pursuit of health and wellness is growing day by day. Traditional Hanfang herbal wisdom is re-entering public life with a fresh new approach. Located in the Guantian Industrial Park, the Tianyi Traditional Chinese Medicine Lifestyle Park is a shining example of this trend. It is not only a venue for showcasing TCM culture, but also an interactive space where visitors can deeply experience, understand, and practice healthy living concepts.
Tianyi Pharmaceutical Factory, established in 1983 (the 72nd year of the Republic of China), has upheld its commitment to quality and health for over forty years. It is also “the nation’s first GMP-certified TCM manufacturer.” This honor not only highlights its leadership in pharmaceutical technology, but also represents its strict control over drug safety and efficacy, meeting international standards of good manufacturing practices and providing solid assurance for the quality of scientific TCM.
As times have evolved, modern society faces increasing lifestyle-related illnesses such as stress-induced insomnia, indigestion, and sub-health conditions. This has prompted Tianyi Pharmaceutical Factory to reflect deeply on how to more effectively integrate thousands of years of Hanfang herbal wisdom into contemporary daily life. From this realization emerged a forward-looking project: the establishment of the “Tianyi Traditional Chinese Medicine Lifestyle Park.”
The core concept of the park is to break the stereotype of traditional Chinese medicine as having a strong medicinal smell and being inconvenient to use. It aims to present the essence of Hanfang herbs in ways that are closer to daily life, easier to understand, and more engaging. The park hopes to serve as a bridge connecting ancient medical wisdom with modern wellness needs, guiding the public to learn about TCM and how to naturally and gently apply it to daily health care, moving toward the goal of “TCM in everyday life.”
Upon arriving at the park, you will immediately be drawn to a playful photo spot. Here you’ll find adorable Q-version deer and turtle figures. They are not just cute decorations—they symbolize one of Tianyi’s well-known products: “Guilu Erxian Jiao,” made by simmering turtle shell and deer antler. In this lively corner, you can take photos with these cute companions, capturing the joyful mood together with Tianyi’s wellness spirit and marking the first highlight of your visit.
After taking photos, you officially enter the indoor area of the park. First, you’ll encounter the “Cultural Gallery.” It offers an in-depth introduction to the evolution of traditional Chinese medicine from ancient times to the present. From the legend of Shennong tasting hundreds of herbs and pioneering herbal therapy, to the coexistence of shamans and physicians in the Shang Dynasty; from the health preservation theories of Warring States thinkers, to the compilation of medical classics in the Tang and Song Dynasties; then to the impact and integration of Chinese and Western medicine in the Ming and Qing periods, up to today’s “TCM in everyday life” philosophy emphasized by Tianyi Pharmaceutical Factory—Chinese medicine culture continues to thrive through ongoing progress and innovation.
At the other end of the Cultural Gallery, there is a fun interactive installation called “Three Emperors Divination Sticks.” Using a design combining the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches, you can randomly draw a divination stick encoded with the stem-branch system. Through this ancient and wise system, you can predict your recent fortune. This is not only an entertaining interactive experience but also cleverly blends traditional Chinese metaphysics with astronomical calendar knowledge, allowing you to feel the depth of Chinese traditional culture in a relaxed atmosphere.
Next, you will enter the “Antique Pharmacy Area.” What comes into view is a carefully recreated nostalgic pharmacy space. The antique-style medicine cabinets, traditional weighing scales, and various TCM grinding tools all evoke memories of the past. The area displays the tools once used by pharmacists to prepare medicines, such as the delicate “beam scale” for accurately measuring the weight of herbs, as well as the “mixing bowl” (or medicine mortar) and “pestle and mortar,” essential tools for grinding herbs in earlier times. These nostalgic artifacts not only carry historical memories but also remind visitors of the hardworking image of grandmothers brewing medicinal soups for their families at home, with beads of sweat on their faces full of warmth. In this nostalgic atmosphere, you will gain a deeper appreciation for the value of modern technological progress. Today, through advanced extraction technology, obtaining safe, hygienic, and convenient concentrated herbal liquids has become effortless. This convenience makes us even more grateful and appreciative of the health benefits scientific TCM brings to modern people.
Passing through the light of history, you will arrive at an area showcasing various precious medicinal materials. Here, many representative Hanfang herbs are displayed—from common ginseng, deer antler, deer, and insects to various unique plants. Each is carefully exhibited with detailed introductions explaining their names, origins, and unique effects on human health. This allows you to closely observe these gifts of nature and understand how ancient people used them to regulate the body and prevent disease, further exploring the mysteries of TCM herbs.
The café inside the Tianyi Traditional Chinese Medicine Lifestyle Park offers drinks such as sour plum soup, coffee, and tea, along with the unique “Replenishing Egg” and light snack “dried tofu”—delicious choices for replenishing energy and taking a short rest.
The merchandise area features a curated selection of products, including the “Elegant Afternoon Tea Series” for nourishing and regulating women’s bodies, the convenient “Snack Time LOHAS Diet Series,” and the “Home Wellness Series” for easy home-based nourishment.
