🏰⚡️【Chasing from Fifth Grade to Now, I Finally Walked into Taipei Harry Potter Flagship Store】⚡️🏰
Some movies, you forget after watching.
But some stories truly grow up with you.
For me, Harry Potter is the latter.🪄
This time visiting the Taipei Harry Potter Flagship Store, not long after walking in, my ears were greeted by the most familiar and favorite opening track from the Harry Potter film soundtrack.
At that moment, it really felt like—
“Oh my god, I’m back in my childhood.”🥹
As the familiar melody played, so many old scenes flooded back into my mind.
I’ve been obsessed with Harry Potter since fifth grade. Back then, there were no short videos summarizing plots or instant movie analyses available anytime.
It was just reading the novels one by one and watching the movies one by one.
From elementary school age, all the way through junior high, high school, and finally to the seventh book.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione were growing up, and it felt like I was growing up with them.
I used to fantasize about receiving my own Hogwarts acceptance letter one day; I’d wonder which house the Sorting Hat would place me in.🧙♀️
I’d also imagine walking into Diagon Alley to buy a wand, boarding the Hogwarts Express at the platform, and even the familiar scenes, music, and characters from the movies became part of my childhood memories.
So walking into the Harry Potter Flagship Store this time felt like more than just “shopping at a store.”
It was more like my grown-up self revisiting the child I once was.❤️
Seeing those familiar house crests, wands, costumes, collectibles, and all kinds of merchandise, I couldn’t help but keep thinking: “I know this one! I remember that one too!”
Every little item could spark a memory of the story.
And I have to say, the items inside are really exquisitely made!✨
Many products, when examined closely, have beautifully handled details. For true longtime Harry Potter fans, it’s basically a massive impulse-buy zone.
But……
Here comes the “but.”🤣🤣🤣
Why is everything so expensive!!!
Before going in, I thought:
“I’m just looking, I’m very rational.”
After going in:
“This is so cute……”
“This is so exquisite……”
“I really want to collect this……”
“Maybe I could take this home?”
Then seeing the price:
“Okay, we’re just admiring today.”😂
All I can say is the wizarding world really isn’t a place Muggles can casually spend in.💸🪄
Still, even without buying anything, just slowly browsing and looking around inside already felt worthwhile.
Because what truly moved me wasn’t the merchandise.
It was that sudden realization—
That a story I loved so much as a child could, after all these years, still bring joy to who I am now.
After we grow up, life brings work, pressure, reality, and many things we have to face.
As a child, the wizarding world felt real;
As an adult, you know it’s just novels and movies.
Yet it’s amazing that when the familiar music plays again, for a few seconds I still believe I’ve returned to that imaginative age.
The version of me who would get excited for a novel or a movie for a long time, and who believed magic truly existed somewhere in the world.
Looking back now, I realize Harry Potter has long been more than just a series of novels or films to me.
It’s a childhood that stretched from fifth grade all the way through high school and still remains in my heart today.
The child I was never actually received a Hogwarts acceptance letter,
But the adult I’ve become walked into the wizarding world herself.⚡️
Maybe this is one kind of romance that comes with growing up.
We know magic isn’t real,
yet we’re still willing to be moved by the magic we once believed in.✨
Thank you, Harry Potter, for growing up with me.
And thank you to that little girl who started chasing the wizarding world in fifth grade and still hasn’t completely forgotten how much she once loved this story.
A Harry Potter fan’s childhood never really graduates.🪄🏰⚡️
As for today’s biggest takeaway:
Magic is real,
childhood is real,
memories are real,
and……
Harry Potter merchandise really is expensive—that’s real too.🤣💸
