From breaking the camera to leaving memories, I just want to make people look more beautiful
When I was in elementary school, my dad bought me a very ordinary point-and-shoot camera. At that time, our family wasn't very wealthy, but my dad knew I loved taking photos, so he saved up to buy it for me. My sister was only four years old then, and she became the first model in my life. She would wear little skirts, stand on the balcony, hold candy and smile, sit on the floor daydreaming, and I would just keep shooting. Back then, I didn't understand composition or lighting; I just knew I wanted to 'capture this moment'.
But I had a very obsessive attachment to photography from a young age. In junior high, I would get extremely angry if I couldn't take good photos. I felt the image wasn't pretty enough, dreamy enough, or like what I imagined in my mind, so I would throw the camera. I broke nearly twenty digital cameras in junior high, costing over ten thousand dollars. Looking back now, I really regret it, because those cameras weren't bought with my own money; they were hard-earned by my family. In high school, I also broke over ten, and at the time, I didn't know what it meant to cherish; I just kept pursuing 'a more beautiful image'.
Later, when I entered society, I slowly understood. I understood how childish I was before, and how difficult it is for parents to support a child's dream. Later, I broke three more DSLR-like cameras, but not by throwing them randomly; it was because I shot too much, took them out in wind and rain, and studied every day until the equipment aged. Now, I use old CCD cameras, outdated digital SLRs, and Samsung three-lens phones for shooting. Many people think equipment has to be expensive, but I believe what's truly important is 'whether you want to capture a person in a way they've never seen before'.
I'm not from a professional background, and I'm not a famous photographer. I'm just someone who's loved portrait photography since childhood. Loved it to the point of losing sleep over a photo, loved it so much that I'd rush out to shoot at the sight of a sunset, loved it so much that seeing roadside flowers, mist, or lights would make me fantasize: 'If someone stood here, it would look great'.
Welcome to come and take photos with XiaoBo, to leave behind your youth and memories
Many boys and girls actually want to take photos but feel shy. Some are afraid they're not photogenic, some don't know how to pose, some don't have nice clothes, and some think they're not slim enough or good-looking enough. But really, there's no need to be afraid.
For people who come to me for photos, what I hope most is that you can be yourself comfortably. You don't have to be an internet celebrity, a model, or good at posing. Because what I shoot isn't 'perfect people', but the real and good-looking you.
If you don't have clothes to match, I can provide paid assistance for nail art, makeup, hair, and trying on clothes. Many first-timers are extremely nervous, but after getting makeup done and changing into clothes that suit them, they light up. When they see the final product, they often say: 'I didn't know I could look this good.' Those moments are truly touching.
And I don't like rigid photo shoots. I prefer a dreamy feel, a story feel, an emotional feel. I'll chat with you, find angles that suit you, teach you poses, and even help you think of themes. You can be a princess, a schoolgirl, a Japanese-style girl, a retro movie character, or Alice in Wonderland. Taking photos isn't just about the face; it's about capturing a period of youth, an emotion, a version of yourself.
Many people think taking photos is just pressing the shutter, but for me, it's not. Photos are 'today that you can never go back to'. Maybe you think you're ordinary now, but in five years or ten years, when you look back, you'll realize how young and beautiful you were then.
I crazily love portrait photography because I think everyone has their own light. Some look great when they smile, some have eyes full of stories, some are charming when quiet. I like to capture those moments. Sometimes, by the end of the shoot, I'm more excited than the client because I know: 'This photo will become an important memory in the future'.
So if you want to leave a memento for yourself, whether it's for a birthday, a breakup, graduation, a change, youth, love, or just to record who you are now, welcome to come and take photos with XiaoBo.
Because some moments, once they pass, you really can't capture them anymore.
