When it comes to Taipei's East District Yanjii Street, many people immediately think of numerous upscale bars, but recently I discovered a spot that's perfect for after-work gatherings with friends and offers incredible value—美喝麥喝 Taiwanese Bistro! It's truly a fun and refreshing Taiwanese-style Bistro!

🍻 Must-See Deal: 199 Beer All-You-Can-Drink

🔞 Reminder: Don't drink and drive. No alcohol for those under 18.

美喝麥喝 Taiwanese Bistro is located on Yanjii Street, just a 5-minute walk from Exit 1 of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall MRT Station—super convenient! This place is no ordinary spot; its signature spicy braised dishes have won international chef awards and gold medals in Singapore and Busan, Korea. It's truly "gold medal-level" delicious~

The interior features a bright, stylish industrial design. Unlike typical dimly lit bars, it creates a relaxing, vibrant vacation vibe. The most thoughtful touch is the power outlets at every table, so you can drink, work, or take photos without worrying about your phone dying. They even offer private event services for companies and groups, making it an excellent choice for gatherings in the East District.

The most amazing part is seeing 199 Beer All-You-Can-Drink on the menu—I couldn't believe my eyes. In the Yanjii Street area, it's incredibly generous. That day, my friend and I enjoyed fresh, smooth draft beer paired with gold medal-level braised dishes and giant handmade dumplings that taste just like grandma made. It was truly healing~

Three Treasures Platter ($300)

I have to highly recommend their signature dishes: the braised series! We ordered the Three Treasures Platter, featuring tender beef tripe and Q-bouncy, flavorful beef tendon—well-seasoned but not overly salty~

Smoked Boneless Chicken Feet ($120)

If you love spicy food like me, ask the chef to add their signature chili sauce. The numbing aroma paired with Smoked Boneless Chicken Feet is the perfect drinking companion.

Dumplings ($180)

For the main course, these handmade dumplings are truly special. Online reviews even say they're "better than Cashbox dumplings"! The wrapper has a delightful handmade chewiness—not the thin kind that breaks easily, but a Q-elastic shell with real flour aroma~

The filling shines with perfectly seasoned cabbage and pork in just the right fat-to-lean ratio. When you bite in, it bursts with sweet, juicy broth—no dipping sauce needed. The crisp cabbage and meaty flavor blend beautifully, giving that "grandma-made" taste—warm and satisfying. Dumpling lovers absolutely can't miss this generous surprise!

Three Treasures Noodle Soup ($280)

And this bowl of Three Treasures Noodle Soup—chewy noodles in a rich, warm broth. A sip of hot soup paired with an ice-cold beer is incredibly refreshing.

If you're craving a comforting main, this Three Treasures Noodle Soup is the top choice. The chewy thick noodles stay perfectly elastic even after soaking in the broth, delivering a smooth, broth-coated bite every time~

Sesame Cold Tofu ($70)

The appetizer Sesame Cold Tofu is also excellent—full of sesame aroma with a refreshing, silky texture.

Chef's Secret Spare Ribs ($220)

Fried food lovers, check this out! The Chef's Secret Spare Ribs are fragrant, not greasy at all, and incredibly addictive. This dish will keep you coming back for more! The chef uses a secret marinade that infuses deep savory-sweet flavor into the meat itself!

The exterior is fried to a golden, enticing crisp with no oily aftertaste. Each piece retains rich juices, delivering a satisfying chew that gets more flavorful with every bite. That classic Taiwanese flavor is seriously moreish~

Handmade Dried Threadfin Fish ($320)

Perfect drinking companion: Handmade Dried Threadfin Fish! Known for its delicate texture, the fish's sweetness is locked in after the shop's handmade preparation~ The skin is grilled to a crispy golden finish, while the inside stays tender and juicy. The fat is evenly distributed and melts in your mouth! This contrast of crispy skin and tender meat, paired with a hint of sea salt, perfectly highlights the fish's layered freshness~

Handmade Crispy Grilled Salted Pork ($180)

The salted pork has a crispy charred skin and elastic meat. The shop selects well-balanced cuts, and the most impressive part is how extremely crispy the skin gets—cracking like a cookie when you bite! The seasoning layers are rich; eaten plain, you taste the grilled aroma, and adding garlic slices or dipping sauce expands the flavor profile. It's a top-tier drinking dish with distinct textures and full Taiwanese flavor~

Secret Fried Items

The boss treated us to their secret fried item! When it arrived, the shape made it hard to guess. The boss asked us to take a few bites and guess—I immediately tasted a strong seafood flavor! It turned out to be handmade tempura! What makes this tempura special is the extremely complex and time-consuming process behind it—reportedly taking a full 7 to 10 days~ From freezing and icing to refrigeration, every step must be precise to completely transform its texture! When served, the first bite makes you question what you're eating—it's as crispy as a cookie with an amazing crunch, but as you chew, a rich fish paste aroma slowly emerges. This "cookie-like yet tempura" contrast is truly layered and absolutely unique. Everyone should try it~~

This table of hearty dishes paired with 199 Beer All-You-Can-Drink is pure enjoyment!! Now, with three or more people, you can enjoy the legendary 199 Beer All-You-Can-Drink deal. Honestly, in the East District Yanjii Street area, 199 might only buy one cocktail elsewhere, but here it lets you drink unlimited!

The beer here is fresh and smooth with no bitterness—perfect for a light buzz with friends. If you don't drink, they also offer orange juice, cola, or non-alcoholic beer—very thoughtful!

美喝麥喝 Taiwanese Bistro truly pursues excellence in its cuisine, regularly introducing surprising hidden new dishes! Recently, they've brought in the ultra-rare and precious "Bluefin Tuna Fillet"—only one per fish! The chef renders the skin golden and crispy while locking in silky fat and sweet juices inside. That ultimate contrast of "crispy outside, smooth inside, fresh and tender"—just watching the chef prepare it makes your mouth water!

美喝麥喝 Taiwanese Bistro is a place I'd definitely bring friends back to. The food quality, comfortable environment, and relaxing Taiwanese Bistro atmosphere are all above standard. Especially being able to enjoy gold medal-level braised dishes and all-you-can-drink at such an affordable price in East District Yanjii Street— the value is off the charts.

Also, if you're planning a group gathering or company year-end party, besides the popular 199 all-you-can-drink and signature braised dishes, I highly recommend booking their "Private Chef Table"! It features the chef's various treasured handmade dishes that will have the whole table cheering and full of face. Since these private dishes are limited and handmade, remember to call ahead to inquire and reserve so you don't miss this Taiwanese feast!

Life is short—eating here won't be a regret. Next time you're unsure where to gather after work, come to 美喝麥喝 for dumplings, braised dishes, and big gulps of beer!
