Honestly, we first spotted this storefront while waiting at a red light. The wooden decor paired with the white sign caught our eye, and we wondered what kind of amazing place it was. We thought it might look impressive but taste ordinary. Since it’s close to home and open late, we decided to try it—and it turned out to be a great spot for late-night snacks in Zhonghe. Even at 11 PM the place was packed; it’s really impressive.
The interior is comfortable and bright, unlike the usual cramped snack shops. Busan Flying Pig’s space is well laid out, making dining feel relaxed and spacious with separated seating areas. The decor really resembles a Korean restaurant; the open kitchen lets you smell the tempting aromas drifting out, making the wait for food full of anticipation
The signature items aren’t complicated—just straightforward pork broth noodles. If you like a spicy kick, go for the spicy version, but I personally think their mild spice level is quite hot—DONG, you’ll even be sweating after eating it..
If you don’t want soup noodles, they also offer dry mixed noodles. Other options include side dishes like soy-marinated soft-boiled eggs, Korean kimchi, Korean bean sprouts, etc.
Before the main course arrives, start with some appetizers. This plate of Korean bean sprouts is refreshing and crisp with simple seasoning that makes you want one bite after another. We also ordered the soy-marinated soft-boiled egg; the onsen egg itself is a good one, and paired with the house sauce it’s really tasty~ However, I feel their side dishes are small in portion and relatively expensive compared to the mains—we only ordered sides the first time and skipped them afterward.. the portions are just too small
Ta-da! This is the “Spicy Pork Broth Noodles” I’ve been looking forward to
The bright red broth topped with plenty of seaweed strips and green onions is visually stunning! The spicy pork noodle broth tastes like it’s made from pork bones simmered with vegetables and fruits for a long time—smooth and rich with fresh sweetness on the first sip, while the spiciness quickly spreads across the tongue. It’s not a harsh, throat-burning heat but a familiar Korean-style spice~ Although the shop calls it mild, it actually tastes more like medium spice; your throat might feel a bit sore after drinking it
The pork slices are generous. Though they’re thick-cut pork belly pieces, each one absorbs the essence of the broth and stays tender without being chewy—actually has a slight crisp bite that makes you want to order extra meat to enjoy big mouthfuls
Look at the noodles being lifted by chopsticks~ Fully coated in spicy broth, it’s mouthwatering just to see. I really love Busan Flying Pig’s springy noodles; they pair perfectly with the broth, making every bite satisfying. And the best part is this authentic, delicious pork broth noodle bowl is cheap and offers great value—definitely a budget-friendly late-night choice in Zhonghe
If you can’t handle spice or want to taste the pure sweetness of the pork bone broth, “Original Pork Noodles” is definitely your top pick! This bowl is my number one!!
Though it has the same generous pork belly slices and seaweed as the spicy version, the broth is a clear milky white—smooth and easy to drink, with a natural sweetness that lingers in the mouth after swallowing, and no extra greasiness
The pork slices in the original pork noodles are equally excellent. Without the spicy sauce, the natural sweetness of the pork shines even more. The slices are cut to the perfect thickness—tender and springy. Even eaten plain, you can taste the pork’s original flavor, and paired with the sweet broth it’s incredibly satisfying
