If you're the type who can't help but go "Aaaahhh so cute!" the moment you see a cat, and start imagining a hundred different ways to interact with them before even stepping inside

I used to be a dog person, but after visiting this cat cafe in Yonghe, I was still completely won over by their deep, soulful eyes
Yonghe has such a high-quality cat cafe — I have to give it a big recommendation!

J's Coffee 僦室貓屋 is just a 7-minute walk from Yong'an Market MRT Station. As soon as you enter, you're surrounded by cats
The moment you push open the door, the warm wooden decor and sunlight streaming through the windows make you feel right at home and relaxed
Here's the highlight!! The cats are the true stars of this place! Every cat acts like a little shop manager, and their portraits hang on the walls
Each portrait includes the cat's name, showing how much the owner loves these little ones
Since cats might jump onto the table and lie in front of you at any time, no hot main dishes are served. The focus is on coffee, tea, snacks, and light bites
Minimum spend is NT$250 per person (must include one drink), and a 10% service fee applies
Besides enjoying time with the cats, the cafe prioritizes their safety above all else
Please follow the store's rules while dining
J's Coffee isn't just about adorable cats — their coffee has also won the Taipei Coffee Festival Gold Cup Award!
The pour-over coffee is rich in layers, and the sea salt caramel latte offers a sophisticated sweetness with a hint of saltiness that instantly lifts your mood
Every cat at J’s Coffee 僦室貓屋 has its own personality. Some are like little suns — outgoing and affectionate, coming over to nuzzle you and ask for pets
They'll gaze at you with big, watery eyes as if saying "Pet me now!"
Others are cool and aloof, quietly sunbathing by the window and occasionally giving you a look that says "Come worship me already," making them impossible to resist
The cats here are very people-friendly. They won't hiss even if you pet them casually. There's even one named William
Every time the owner calls "William," I think they're calling me...
There are also very quiet cats who sleep peacefully on the cat tree. They aren't afraid of you approaching — they've been trained very well
Just look at those mesmerizing eyes — they make you want to scream inside! Oh my god!! So cute!!
And their fur is incredibly soft and smooth to the touch. You just want to press your face right against it
Because the owner and staff treat them like treasures
They get groomed every month, their coats shine, and they're round and healthy. There's none of the usual odors found in typical cat cafes
The environment is spotless — floors, tables, chairs, and cat trees are all immaculate, and even the litter box area is neatly maintained, so you don't have to worry about hygiene
This expression is basically criminal! How can anyone resist petting its head?
At this Yonghe cat cafe, any cat that's out and about can be gently petted. Younger kittens are kept in enclosures
We happened to see four newborn kittens this time. Watching them play so energetically makes you want to take them home
J’s Coffee 僦室貓屋 desserts change daily and are listed on the wall board
This time we ordered the original Basque cheesecake and QQ waffles. The desserts are on the pricier side, averaging over NT$150 each
But since the main reason for coming is to bond with the cats, we didn't mind
The Basque cheesecake was moist but tasted fairly average
It's the kind of Basque cheesecake taste and texture you or I could make at home
The QQ waffles, however, were quite enjoyable. I expected regular waffles
But they had a real mochi-like chewiness. Delicious, though two pieces for NT$160 is a bit expensive
Dining with the cats is truly therapeutic
Halfway through the meal, we caught a cat lazily yawning
Unlike some cat cafes where fur flies everywhere, this Yonghe cat house doesn't have that problem. The cats are well cared for
The minimal shedding means you're less likely to have an allergic reaction or start sneezing
I absolutely love this cat lying on the table next to us — its pose is so cute
Just sprawled out with limbs stretched, sleeping on the table, letting you pet it freely
This is officially my favorite pose of the day — you can even pet its belly!!
I'm a dog person, so I can't recognize many cat breeds, but it's clear some of the cats here are quite special
If you love cats, you'll definitely fall for this place!!
Although the meal cost here is a bit higher than a regular restaurant, it's still quite reasonable compared to department store cat cafes that often charge NT$500 per person
These adorable cats are carefully looked after by the staff, making them very friendly. If you ever need some feline healing, come here
Don't miss this dreamy cat-lover's paradise in Yonghe. J’s Coffee 僦室貓屋 is waiting for you to be melted by cats and become a happy cat slave!
