This store used to focus on stir-fry dishes, now they also sell clay pot congee. Weather is cold, perfect timing to come try it.
Interior decor leans more toward Japanese cuisine style,
Quite a few menu items, specializing in clay pot congee for 1-6 people,
Also some stir-fry snacks, lots of choices
Combo meals available at the back
Limited-time dishes on the wall too, can check them out first
Lunch specials available at noon, only 168 NTD,
1. Lunch Set: 168
Lunch set portions are a bit small, to be honest
Because the dishes are also small portions,
The congee is delicious, feels like it's chicken broth base, not plain white congee, very smooth and thick
Hakka salted pork has great flavor, pairs perfectly with the congee
2. Penghu Baby Octopus Seafood Congee: NT$680
This pot serves 3-4 people, very generous portion,
The baby octopus is over the top, literally a whole box, at least over 10 octopuses
Baby octopus is super fresh and springy
Besides the octopus, there are enoki mushrooms and wood ear mushrooms, offering different textures
3. Sichuan Peppercorn Water-Boiled Beef Slices: NT$480
The spiciness here is no joke, really numbing and spicy,
If you want to adjust the spice level, you can tell the staff
Beef portion is decent, also comes with enoki mushrooms / sweet potato noodles / wood ear mushrooms / soybean sprouts
To be honest, this dish pairs better with white rice,
Pairing it with congee feels a bit too watery
This shop's congee is very substantial, and also very smooth and thick
The hot dishes feel just okay, better paired with white rice to feel more filling!!
