《禁。慾》2《Living by Desire》
Chapter Four: Extreme Temperature Difference
1、【Gentleman's Silence】
The night air carried a hint of coolness. When the sun emerged from the dressing room, she radiated an awe-inspiring nobility. She wore a dark red halter-neck backless gown, its tailored fit accentuating her graceful waistline. The slit reached her thigh, revealing glimpses of snow-white skin with every step that could make any man lose his reason.
She stepped out of the elevator and immediately spotted a figure standing beside a low-key black sedan. Lu Yuan wore a clean but somewhat stiff white shirt, standing awkwardly by the car with his hands clasped in front of him. The moment he saw the sun, his eyes froze completely.
"I've never met a guy……" The sun walked toward him with elegant steps, deliberately slowing her speech, her eyes filled with playful teasing.
Lu Yuan's face flushed red as he stammered, "I-I…… You're so beautiful."
The sun stopped in front of him. Their height difference made her tilt her head slightly upward. Unable to resist, she reached out and pinched Lu Yuan's tense cheek. "So adorable, so pure."
After getting in the car, the sun leaned against the passenger seat, gazing at the retreating night scenery outside the window. She asked casually, "I didn't ask you to pick me up. Why did you come anyway?"
Lu Yuan gripped the steering wheel tightly, staring straight ahead, his voice low yet firm: "No reason. I just wanted to give you a ride. Didn't want you taking a cab alone—it's dangerous."
Those two simple words, "dangerous," made the century-old sun's heart tremble slightly. Dangerous? Wasn't the greatest danger in this world herself? Yet watching the man's determined profile, the corners of her lips curled upward unconsciously.
2、【Heartwarming Exchange】
The restaurant was on the top floor, with a massive curved glass window overlooking the city's myriad lights.
After the steaks arrived, a strange silence fell between them. Lu Yuan said nothing, head lowered, focused on cutting the meat on his plate.
The sun rested her chin on her hand, watching him, thinking: Is this kid starving?
However, after Lu Yuan finished cutting the last piece, he silently pushed the neatly sliced, perfectly portioned steak toward the sun, then swapped it with his untouched portion.
The sun was stunned, then burst out laughing: "Lu Yuan, what are you doing? That's so thoughtful. Aren't you afraid I'll get seasick?"
Lu Yuan's ears instantly turned red. Still not daring to look up, he picked up his fork, feigning composure. "Eat up. It'll taste bad once it gets cold."
The sun ate the carefully prepared beef bite by bite, accompanied by rich red wine, her mood inexplicably light. Watching his face that kept avoiding her gaze out of shyness, she couldn't help but want to tear off his mask. "How many girlfriends have you had?"
"Three." The answer was as brief as a headcount.
"Really stingy with words." The sun smiled helplessly. "Done eating? Want to take a walk nearby?"
At checkout, Lu Yuan started to stand, but the sun precisely pressed down on the back of his hand. "I said I'm treating this meal. Thank you for saving me last night. Don't fight me for it."
Lu Yuan looked at her, a trace of helplessness and persistence flashing in his eyes. "Then…… I still owe you a meal. Next time, let me treat."
3、【Blank Paper's Honesty】
The two strolled along the riverbank, the evening breeze tousling the sun's long hair.
"You seem very wooden and simple. Why didn't your previous girlfriends cherish you?" The sun turned and asked.
Lu Yuan gazed at the calm river, his tone flat as if recounting someone else's story: "You seem very curious about me. The first one thought I was poor and ran off with a rich guy; the other two found me too boring, lacking in interest, and cheated on me."
"You really are…… Mr. Stingy with Words." The sun smiled helplessly, then stopped, looking straight into his eyes. "So…… do you still believe in love?"
