✨This small hot pot place near my home has actually been open for a long time. I pass by often and am familiar with it, but I never made a special trip to try it.
✨I recently heard they’re planning to move, so I wanted to eat there before they relocate and made time for a meal.
✨As soon as I walked in, what impressed me most was the service attitude. Whenever I needed assistance during the meal, they came right over to help, which I thought was a big plus.
✨For the food, the meat slices were quite good. They’re cut pretty thick, not the kind that falls apart as soon as they hit the pot. They have real presence when eating.
✨The vegetable plate portion is also generous. The veggies and hot pot ingredients together don’t feel sparse, and you feel satisfied after finishing.
✨However, the drinks are a bit disappointing. They taste rather diluted with no strong flavor, more like something just to quench thirst rather than something you’d want to have multiple glasses of.
✨Also, the shop doesn’t offer coffee or milk tea, so choices are limited. For people who like drinks, it might feel like there’s one less option.
✨In addition, the hot pot uses a gas stove, which isn’t a problem in itself, but you can’t just turn the knob to light it yourself—you have to ask a staff member to bring a lighter. Although the staff always help, it’s still a bit inconvenient, and when there are many customers it could add to their workload.
✨Overall, this small hot pot place isn’t the kind that wows you enough to strongly recommend, but it’s not bad either. The meat and veggie plates are solid, and you feel full after eating. It’s just the drinks and some equipment details that are a bit regrettable.
✨Eating here once before they move is also a small memory of this old shop.
