支配感從何而來？Where Does Dominance Come From?

這兩天一直放在我心上、使我持續思考的，或許是這個問題：

如果沒有皮衣、高跟鞋、靴子、西裝，或 BDSM 道具的輔助，一個 Dom/S 的支配感，究竟能不能單純透過言行、談吐與氣質來呈現？

舉例來說，如果今天有十個人穿著完全相同的服裝，在尚未與他們互動的情況下，你要如何判斷其中誰是 Dom/S？

這個議題最讓我感到有趣的，是當一個人不具備顯著社會地位時，他的權力感究竟該如何被塑造？

我們時常透過職業來判斷一個人是否值得尊敬，因為這是一種快速建立認知的方式，而不同職業也往往帶有各自的形象與氣質。

譬如，一位老師，容易讓人聯想到知識與文學氣息；一位警察，則容易讓人聯想到正義與秩序。

撇開這些刻板印象是否符合現實不談，它們依然具有一定的社會功能：至少，它們提供了一套快速的認知框架，讓我們得以在尚未真正認識一個人之前，便對他的社會角色、地位與整體形象形成初步判斷。

於是，回到最初的問題。

至少在台灣，調教師的身分尚未普遍被社會視為一種正式的職業。那麼，我們是否能夠不依賴服裝、道具，甚至不必主動表明自己的職業，便透過言行、談吐與氣質，讓他人感受到自身的權力感與支配性？

這是一個很有趣的議題，而我也還在持續思考。

近期，我將主要心力放在催眠技巧的精進上，暫時沒有太多時間繼續研讀性學與社會學相關的內容。

也許，光是這個問題，就足以讓我再思考上整整一個月。

What has been on my mind over the past two days, and what I keep finding myself thinking about, is perhaps this:

Without the aid of leather jackets, high heels, boots, suits, or BDSM equipment, can a Dom’s or a sub’s presence and sense of dominance be conveyed purely through their words, behavior, manner of speaking, and overall demeanor?

For example, imagine ten people dressed exactly alike. Without interacting with them, how would you identify which of them is a Dom or a sub?

What fascinates me most about this question is how a sense of authority is constructed in the absence of social status.

We often judge whether someone deserves our respect based on their profession. It is a quick way to form an impression, and different professions tend to carry their own distinct images and associations.

A teacher, for instance, might evoke an image of intellectual depth and literary sensibility, while a police officer might bring to mind justice and order.

Setting aside whether these stereotypes accurately reflect reality, they still serve a social function. At the very least, they provide us with a framework for quickly forming an initial impression of someone’s social role, status, and overall character before we truly get to know them.

So, returning to the original question:

At least in Taiwan, the role of a professional BDSM practitioner is not yet widely recognized by society as an established profession. So how can we convey a sense of authority and dominance through our words, behavior, manner of speaking, and overall demeanor, without relying on clothing or equipment—or even having to explicitly state what we do for a living?

It is a fascinating question, and one I am still exploring.

Recently, I have been focusing most of my energy on improving my hypnosis techniques, leaving me with little time to continue studying sexology and sociology.

Perhaps this is a question that will keep me thinking for an entire month.
