Produce Pavilion and Lantern Check-in Wall Located Inside Wufeng District Farmers' Association

Located in Taichung City’s Wufeng District, the “Taiwan Agricultural and Fishery Products Pavilion” serves not only as a base for promoting high-quality agricultural and fishery products from across Taiwan, but also as a hub that brings together Taiwan’s agricultural culture and innovative development. Affiliated with the Wufeng District Farmers’ Association and situated inside the Association’s main building, the spacious facility features an exhibition and sales area of approximately 400 ping, allowing visitors to purchase specialty products from farmers’ and fishermen’s associations across Taiwan in one stop.

Upon entering the pavilion, the most eye-catching feature is the popular check-in wall composed of hundreds of lanterns, which adds a distinctive charm and infuses the traditional agricultural exhibition space with a modern artistic atmosphere and tourist appeal.

The pavilion offers a wide variety of goods, including carefully crafted specialties from farmers’ and fishermen’s associations across all counties and cities, beautifully packaged gift boxes, and uniquely flavored beverages. Among them, Wufeng’s local specialties—especially alcoholic products—are one of the main highlights on display.

Wufeng District has long been renowned for its high-quality rice and favorable water conditions, nurturing the well-known Wufeng Farmers’ Association Winery. The winery’s “Chuwu” series of sake is crafted from locally grown Wufeng fragrant rice combined with pure, high-quality water sources. Its sake gift boxes feature minimalist, modern packaging that not only embodies traditional Japanese sake-making techniques but also incorporates the warmth of Taiwan’s local terroir, making them an excellent choice for gifting to friends and family.

On this visit, I specifically purchased several items that caught my interest to share with everyone. First is the “Fengtian Komachi Sesame Sake Lees Fragrant Rice Rolls” launched by the Wufeng District Farmers’ Association. This snack combines Wufeng’s local fragrant rice with sake lees produced during the fermentation of “Chuwu” sake, then baked together to create a unique flavor and texture. Each bite releases a subtle sesame aroma, paired with the crisp texture of the rice roll, and finishes with a hint of the distinctive sake lees fragrance—layered yet balanced. Available in convenient single-serve bags or gift boxes, the bag option is undoubtedly more economical for personal enjoyment.

Next is the “Lychee Honey Wine” from the Wufeng Farmers’ Association Winery. This liqueur is brewed from carefully selected locally produced Taiwanese honey combined with lychee juice. On the palate, it first delivers a smooth honey sweetness, followed by delicate lychee fruit notes that blend perfectly on the tongue—gentle and elegant. It has also received international acclaim, earning a gold medal at the Brussels International Wine Competition, attesting to its outstanding quality and flavor. Best enjoyed chilled to highlight the refreshing fruit and honey aromas, making it ideal for a relaxing after-dinner drink.

From the Taixi Township Farmers’ Association in Yunlin County, the “Grilled Corn” snack transforms the classic charcoal-grilled corn flavor into crispy, convenient bite-sized pieces using special techniques. The texture is delightfully crunchy, with none of the greasiness or sticky fingers often associated with eating grilled corn—perfect for office afternoon tea or picnics.

Finally, the “Coriander Black Rice Crisps” from the Beidou Township Farmers’ Association in Changhua use locally grown premium black rice as the base, infused with locally contracted coriander to create a crispy rice snack. Its standout feature is the unique fresh coriander aroma—an unexpected combination paired with a sweet-and-savory seasoning that creates rich and intriguing flavor layers.
