Appearance
The Laurel Bear is a large bear-like creature, standing up to two meters tall when upright. They possess soft, thick silver-gray fur, with a white circular patch on their chest resembling a full moon.
Most notably, they grow a naturally formed laurel leaf crown on their heads. These leaves remain evergreen year-round and do not fall even in the cold winter, making them the most distinctive feature of the Laurel Bear.
The leaf crowns of older Laurel Bears become denser, and some even bloom with small pale golden flowers.
Habitat
Laurel Bears primarily inhabit deep forests, high mountain tree seas, and valleys with abundant moonlight.
They prefer quiet and spacious environments, usually living alone, but are very gentle in nature.
Dietary Habits
Laurel Bears feed on wild fruits, honey, tree roots, and various young plant shoots.
They particularly enjoy Moonlight Berries and Silver Dew Fruits, often appearing in forest areas where fruit trees gather.
Despite their large size, Laurel Bears almost never actively attack other creatures.
Special Abilities
Laurel Bears can absorb energy from moonlight.
Whenever a full moon arrives, the laurel leaf crown on their heads emits a faint glow.
It is said that creatures staying near a Laurel Bear can gradually recover from fatigue and restore their spirits, so many travelers regard them as guardians of the forest.
Legend Records
An ancient forest tribe passes down a legend.
It is said that the first laurel tree was planted by a Laurel Bear.
Whenever the forest faces disaster, the Laurel Bear carries new seeds to barren lands.
Thus, they are also called the "Gardeners of the Forest."
Fox Observation Notebook
Last night, the little boy and I were camping in the forest.
The campfire emitted a warm glow.
The surroundings were so quiet that only insect chirps could be heard.
Suddenly.
The little boy pointed into the distance.
"Fox, there's a moving tree over there."
I looked in that direction.
Under the moonlight.
A massive Laurel Bear was slowly passing through the woods.
The leaf crown on its head emitted a faint silver light.
From afar.
It truly looked like a tree taking a walk.
The Laurel Bear stopped and glanced at us.
Then lowered its head.
And continued slowly walking deeper into the forest.
And where it passed.
A faint laurel scent lingered.

Short Story|The Glowing Tree
That night.
The little boy couldn't sleep.
So he walked out of the tent alone.
The forest was completely quiet.
Only moonlight spilled onto the grass.
Suddenly.
A soft glow appeared in the distance.
The little boy thought he saw a glowing tree.
Curiously, he slowly approached.
Only to discover it was a Laurel Bear.
It was sitting in the middle of a clearing.
Quietly bathing in the moonlight.
The leaf crown on its head shimmered with silver-white light.
Small birds nestled beside it, sleeping.
Even squirrels hid in its fur to rest.
The Laurel Bear did not speak.
It simply gazed quietly at the night sky.
The little boy also sat down not far away.
Keeping it company as they watched the moon.
Until the night grew deep.
The Laurel Bear slowly rose.
And disappeared into the silver-white forest.
