2026 Chiayi City Light Weaving Shadow Dance enters its 7th year this year and will grandly debut from September 25 to October 11, 2026 at Chiayi City Beixiang Lake Park.
This year, themed around the 100th anniversary of Disney's classic story Winnie the Pooh, it extends to create a "Lighting Forest Lighting Adventure" full of childlike fun and imagination, transforming Beixiang Lake Park into the Hundred Acre Wood where Winnie the Pooh and his friends live.
From the giant picture book tunnel at the entrance, to floating Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, and Tigger by the lake, and large character inflatables in the forest, each exhibition area incorporates different story elements, combining outdoor landscapes, lighting, and installation art to create a Chiayi light and shadow experience suitable for family outings, friend dates, and evening strolls.

Event Dates|September 25 – October 11, 2026
Upon arriving at Beixiang Lake Park, visitors will first see this year's entrance installation for Light Weaving Shadow Dance.
The entrance is designed as a picture book tunnel approximately 4 meters high and 20 meters long, as if turning the first page of the story, leading visitors into the fantastical world of Winnie the Pooh.
The giant picture book shape is also perfect as a photo spot; from the entrance, visitors can already feel the fairy-tale atmosphere of this year's "Lighting Forest."
"Misty Glowing Forest" takes the Disney classic character Eeyore as its design image, creating a warm treehouse in the forest.
The bamboo-woven structure, about 5 meters high, paired with warm yellow light beams and flower installations, adds a touch of warmth and healing to the forest space.
During the day, visitors can appreciate the bamboo structure and forest scenery; at night, after lighting, it presents a completely different light and shadow atmosphere.
"Flying Bright Lights" uses red balloons as the main visual element, featuring an inverted Eeyore slowly lifted by a large red balloon, and Tigger grabbing a balloon in a bouncing pose.
Visitors can also see familiar characters and elements like Piglet and honey pots on site, creating a joyful scene of everyone flying and exploring the forest together.
The red balloons also symbolize the passion for exploring the world, and the entire exhibition area is filled with lively and childlike visual effects.
The lake surface of Beixiang Lake Park is also a distinctive scene for this year's Light Weaving Shadow Dance.
"Sweet Ripples by the Moon" features a Winnie the Pooh inflatable on the lake, along with installations symbolizing a giant moon and a golden honey pot.
When the characters are reflected in the lake water, combined with the surrounding natural scenery, the original Beixiang Lake waters turn into a large outdoor reflection stage.
During the day, visitors can enjoy the lakeside scenery; at night, with lighting added, they can feel the fairy-tale atmosphere woven by light, shadow, and water reflections.
"Wish Spinner" features Piglet, a friend of Winnie the Pooh, as the protagonist.
Piglet raises both hands with a happy smile, paired with colorful flower installations around, creating a wish garden full of childlike fun.
Bright flowers scattered on the green grass make it a very cute photo spot in the park.
By the lake, visitors can see Winnie's friends floating on the water, including Eeyore, Piglet, and Tigger.
Using the lake surface and character installations, it presents a scene of the characters floating together on the water, also symbolizing that even in difficulties, friends are always an important force accompanying each other forward.
The wide lake surface, combined with the surrounding lush greenery, makes daytime photography very beautiful too.
One of the most eye-catching large installations in this year's "Lighting Forest" is the giant Winnie the Pooh inflatable by the lake.
The approximately 9-meter-tall Pooh sits by the lake, holding a large red balloon in his hand, with the balloon featuring the "100 Years" commemorative pattern symbolizing the 100th anniversary of Winnie the Pooh.
Next to Pooh is the classic "HUNNY" honey pot, forming a very cute photo scene with the lakeside landscape.
"Hide Light Base" leads visitors into the tree hollow secret base where Winnie the Pooh hides.
Using forest and tree hollow elements to create a story-filled space, it allows adults to rediscover the innocence of childhood and lets children experience the friendship, sharing, and companionship conveyed in the Winnie the Pooh stories.
This year, from September 25 to October 11, a timed light and shadow show is arranged at the "Forest Spotlight Station" in the light and shadow art exhibition area. Visitors who wish to enjoy the nighttime lighting effects are advised to check the performance times in advance.
