Sanxia Batiao Sushi | Super Popular Queue-Worthy Restaurant! Sashimi So Fresh It Makes You Tear Up, Instantly Transporting You to an Okinawan Izakaya Japanese Cuisine Peak, Full Guide to Menu, Reservations, and CP Value!

Today, I'm taking everyone to conquer a super popular queue-worthy restaurant in the Sanxia area that's already gone viral and red-hot enough to make you willingly line up. It can even transport you in a second to a Japanese cuisine sanctuary hidden in Okinawa alleys—that's the legendary "Batiao Sushi"! When it comes to Sanxia, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Old street? Croissant? But in recent years, Sanxia’s food scene has become more and more exciting, especially this Batiao Sushi, which is completely a local favorite. If you ask what to eat in Sanxia, locals will almost always mention this Sanxia sushi restaurant. We knew early on that it has long lines, but every time we passed by and saw the huge crowds, we just gave up. This time, we specially chose a non-peak dining time to visit, and surprisingly, we didn’t have to queue—so we finally got to try it!

Store Information

Store Name: Batiao Sushi Sanxia Flagship Store

Address: No. 198, Sec. 1, Jieshou Rd., Jieshou Village, Sanxia Dist., New Taipei City 237

Phone: 0226732388

As night falls and you drive into Sanxia, you can see from afar the towering signboard of Batiao Sushi glowing with warm yellow light in the dark, especially eye-catching. The entrance is adorned with Japanese lanterns inscribed with "Batiao Sushi," "Japanese Cuisine," and other phrases. Most noticeably, during dining hours, it's always packed with queuing crowds. Today, luckily, there’s no one, so let’s go try it!

Before even stepping inside, your eyes are drawn to the live seafood tanks by the entrance! Inside, lobsters, crabs, and various shellfish swim lively in clear water, directly declaring Batiao Sushi’s commitment to "freshness." These aren’t just for show—these are premium ingredients caught and prepared to order that day. If your wallet allows, you could order a lobster to try, BUT I didn’t…

Through the large glass windows, the interior is still packed even during off-peak hours, full of lively energy. Warm, dim lighting paired with wooden tables and chairs and traditional Japanese decor creates a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere. From outside, you can see guests enjoying their meals with satisfied smiles on their faces—this bustling scene is undoubtedly the best proof of Batiao Sushi’s popularity.

Stepping inside feels like instantly crossing from Sanxia to a lively fishing port izakaya in Okinawa, Japan!

The ceiling is hung with rows of lanterns printed with Japanese text reading "Batiao Sushi," "Japanese Bluefin Tuna," "Ishikari Hot Pot," and more. Above, there's a specially designed thatched roof style, layered with decorations that add a rich local flavor.

Looking around the entire restaurant, the interior space is much more spacious than imagined. The arrangement of tables and chairs also considers customer comfort, without sacrificing dining comfort for business. The high ceiling design further enhances the sense of space, so even with lively chatter, it doesn’t feel overly crowded.

Even after peak dining hours, the staff quickly clean and maintain the cleanliness and comfort of the interior—no piles of leftover trash are visible, and tables are cleaned immediately after guests leave. This attention to detail has instantly boosted my impression of Batiao Sushi. A good restaurant needs not only delicious food but also excellent service and hygiene—major points added!!

The window-side seats offer another dining experience.

Through the large glass windows, you can enjoy your meal while taking in the street view outside, feeling the tranquility and bustling traffic of Sanxia at night. Wooden partitions and tables paired with simple decor add a sense of leisure and privacy to this area. Whether for a couple’s date or a gathering with friends, choosing here lets you enjoy a different dining vibe.

The decorations by the window are also fun! Besides a large beer mug-shaped ornament with overflowing foam that looks just like freshly poured draft beer, it makes you want a glass just by looking at it!

Next to it are several cute, smiling Okinawa-style Shisa stone statues, a unique Okinawan mascot. These little details not only enhance the Japanese vibe but also echo the passionate atmosphere of feeling like you're in an Okinawa izakaya.

Batiao Sushi Menu

Batiao Sushi’s menu is truly super rich—just looking at it is enough to dazzle you!

From sushi, sashimi, hand rolls, to grilled items, fried items, stir-fried dishes, and even hot pots and rice/noodle dishes, it’s like condensing the essence of all Japanese cuisine right here. From "Sushi Nigiri," "Sashimi," "Hand Rolls," "Grilled Items," "Meals (Rice/Noodles)," to "Fried Items," "Stir-Fried Dishes"—everything is available, with prices clearly marked for easy calculation.

In addition to the regular menu, Batiao Sushi also offers "Today’s Specials"—this list features hidden gems of the day, usually with seasonal limited items or the chef’s creative dishes.

The blackboard on the wall is a visual "Manager’s Recommendations"!

It features not only hand-drawn food illustrations but also eye-catching "Manager’s Recommendations" text, paired with vivid food photos, so you instantly know the star items. For those with choice paralysis, it’s a total lifesaver!

Premium Assorted Sashimi

Oh my god! The moment this assorted sashimi platter was served, I really gasped! The visual impact is just too strong!

Arranged neatly on a bed of crushed ice are various brightly colored, clearly textured sashimi slices—thick-cut tuna, salmon, swordfish, plus silver-gleaming aji and mackerel. Each piece is cut thick and generous, truly without holding back. Every slice of sashimi is incredibly fresh—the sweetness bursts in your mouth! The texture is delicate and tender yet with just the right chew, and the chilled effect enhances the fresh sweetness even more. No matter the fish type, they’re all amazingly delicious.

Salmon Fried Rice

Salmon fried rice is definitely Batiao Sushi’s hidden dark horse!

The round, plump fried rice is piled like a small mountain, generously drizzled with a large amount of white mayonnaise sauce, then sprinkled with plenty of seaweed shreds and sesame seeds. The presentation alone is eye-catching. Every grain of rice is distinct and golden, steaming hot with an irresistible aroma. You can see plenty of salmon pieces inside, and the fried rice has that wok hei flavor—it’s really delicious.

Teppanyaki Beef Tenderloin

High-heat teppan sears the beef slices to a fragrant, tempting golden brown, stir-fried together with onions, snow peas, and bell peppers, then drizzled with a special sauce. The aroma hits you and instantly whets your appetite! The beef slices are tender, juicy, and full of chew, perfectly infused with the sauce. The savory-sweet interplay is super satisfying with rice.

Pot-Cooked Sanuki Udon

This udon bowl is packed with ingredients: a large, fresh shrimp with springy, sweet meat, plus fish cake, greens, shiitake mushrooms, and clams, making the layers of flavor even richer. The warm broth is truly comforting for the stomach.

Stir-Fried Sanuki Udon

If you like chewy udon but don’t want soup, then the "Stir-Fried Sanuki Udon" is definitely for you!

The springy udon is quickly stir-fried over high heat with various fresh seafood and vegetables, then topped with plenty of bonito flakes, filling the dish with aroma. The flavor is savory with a hint of sweetness, and it was quickly devoured too.

Stir-Fried Loofah with Large Clams

This stir-fried loofah with large clams cuts fresh loofah into bite-sized pieces and lightly stir-fries them with clams and mushrooms, truly preserving the natural sweetness of the ingredients. The loofah is tender and juicy, with the clams’ umami fully infused into the broth. It’s light yet flavorful—the broth pairs perfectly with rice.

Stir-Fried Matsusaka Pork in Sauce

This Matsusaka pork dish features tender, well-seasoned pork slices stir-fried with plenty of onions and bell peppers, then drizzled with a unique sauce—truly aromatic! The sauce’s sweet-savory balance is just right, perfectly blending with the pork’s freshness. It’s very appetizing with rice. I remember finishing with this pork and going for another bowl of rice—super satisfying!

To be honest, before visiting Batiao Sushi, I had already heard too many praises and seen the long lines during meal times, but the actual experience far exceeded my expectations!

Not only is the sashimi unbelievably fresh, but other items like lobster dishes (which would be even better if freshly killed) and other Japanese izakaya dishes are all outstanding. I can truly understand why it’s a famous queue-worthy spot in Sanxia. With this level of ingredient quality, portion size, and dining environment, Batiao Sushi’s prices are very reasonable—almost a steal. Friends who love Japanese cuisine should definitely come try it!

Batiao Sushi also has a parking lot, but it requires about a 5-minute walk. However, strolling to the lot after eating helps with digestion— I really overate a bit!
