Do you often get drawn to the endless lines at certain shop entrances on Taipei streets? Recently changing my commute route, I noticed a hand-shaken drink shop near Technology Building that's always queuing up, especially with an exaggerated crowd during lunch hours. Checking online, I discovered it's a super popular internet-famous store. Today I'm introducing "春山茶水鋪", which has countless tea lovers willingly queuing up. This shop has over 1,700 Google Map reviews with a high score of 4.5, and is called "Taipei's strongest hand-shaken drink" by many bloggers and food lovers. Whether on a scorching hot day or a slightly cool afternoon, you'll always see the entrance packed with waiting customers. Today I finally had time to queue up and try it myself—does it really live up to the hype?
春山茶水鋪 (原烏鐵茶水鋪)
Address:台北市大安區復興南路二段323號
Phone:02-2737-0198
Business Hours:Monday to Saturday 08:00–18:00 (Closed on Sunday)-Some reviews mention tea sometimes sells out early, so avoid peak lunch hours and arrive early
Look at this queuing scene—we visited on a holiday afternoon, and the entrance of 春山茶水鋪 is still packed with customers. From a distance you can see the continuous flow of people. This really makes me want to try it and see if it's really that amazing?
Up close, the store is small but full of retro nostalgic vibes. Besides wooden decor and handwritten signs, you can see old-fashioned tea grinding tools and vintage wooden cabinets, as if stepping into an old Taiwan tea shop. Space inside is limited so it's mainly takeout, but a waiting area is set up at the entrance for a short rest
The staff are busy preparing cup after cup of delicious drinks. Despite the crowd, their movements are quite quick—honestly, I got my drink in about 10 minutes
The menu design at 春山茶水鋪 is simple and clear, but the font size is really tiny—you can't see the items unless you're right at the counter. The drinks mainly fall into pure tea, blended tea, milk tea, fresh milk tea, and non-tea drinks. Their specialty is using high-quality tea leaves without added tea essence, so every cup delivers the true aroma of the tea. Since it was my first time and I didn't know what to order, I went by the rankings and picked Four Seasons Spring Oolong Tea and Black Tea Latte
The store not only has great drinks but the interior decor is full of clever details. We were really interested in the old furniture inside, especially the colorful traditional art paintings in the display cabinet with door god and paper-cut patterns, giving the space a strong Eastern aesthetic and cultural depth. Suddenly I had some expectations for their teas~
Finally, the long-awaited "Four Seasons Spring Oolong Tea" is here! The moment I received it, I could feel the chill from the cup—pure salvation on a hot Taipei street
I chose light sugar and less ice for this Four Seasons Spring Oolong Tea. The first sip brings a strong tea aroma that spreads lightly in the mouth—quite surprising!
Then the rich tea notes unique to oolong tea gradually emerge. It's amazing how 春山茶水鋪's oolong tea lacks the usual raw astringency and doesn't have the heaviness of heavily roasted oolongs. Its flavor is very balanced—rich but not bitter or astringent. The sweet aftertaste is obvious and long-lasting, making you want sip after sip as it gets smoother. I truly think the light sugar sweetness is just right, gently highlighting the tea's fragrance without overpowering it. Even friends who usually prefer unsweetened drinks should find the light sugar version very acceptable!
As for the Black Tea Latte, I really think it's just ordinary... If you really want to drink something, I'd suggest sticking to their pure teas. If everyone recommends the latte... I'm voting against it for this place
"春山茶水鋪" attracts everyone to queue not only with its unique nostalgic atmosphere but also with genuine, high-quality tea drinks—especially the signature "Four Seasons Spring Oolong Tea", which stands out in Taipei's competitive hand-shaken drink market. It's been a long time since I've had such pure tea. If there was no queue, I'd drink here all the time, but queuing just for a 40-dollar tea... I might as well brew my own. But if you want to experience the charm of a local popular store, this definitely won't disappoint you
