[Tainan](Eat-Food) Babao Bin Yuanzi Hui Bib Gourmand Recommended Tainan Must-Eat Popular Food

I wanted to eat at this ice shop a long time ago, 

because it has been recommended by Bib Gourmand for many years and is also an affordable delicacy

This time I finally had the chance to try it, so of course I had to share a review

Babao Bin Yuanzi Hui actually has several branches in Tainan, but the main store still has the best business

Can't help it, the halo effect is still there~~

The store is not big, just a very traditional ice shop setup with no fancy decor

An open cooking counter and the rest is the dining area

The dining area space is not large, but with this space, there are quite a few seats

It has been selected as a Bib Gourmand recommended food since 2022

Also selected for Taiwan 500 Sweets

Many celebrities have also eaten here

Here there are only shaved ice and sweet soups

Shaved ice is available all year round, hot sweet soups are probably only in winter~~

This shop is "queue, order ice first, then find a seat"

If there are no seats available, you can also queue and order ice first, 

Order the ice (how many bowls / what toppings), pay first, the owner will give you a number to wait for a seat

When there is a seat, they will call the number and start making your ice

Ordering ice is simple, just choose your own or the eight-treasure ice, if you want extra toppings, you can only add one type per bowl~~ 

Every ingredient is made fresh that day, fresh and transparent 

All traditional old-school toppings, nothing too fancy

The eight-treasure ice has a fixed 8 toppings (red stars)-red beans/green beans/soybeans/vermicelli/pearls/powder triangles/yuanzi/taro

Basically the most traditional shaved ice toppings plus the store's signature yuanzi and honey taro

If you are not particularly picky, first-timers are recommended to just order the eight-treasure ice

Their ice is like other traditional ice shops, all the good stuff is buried under the shaved ice

Their shaved ice is scooped with a big ladle, so it's super round and huge

Digging out the toppings, it's easy to spill ice all over the table~~ 

The honey taro is super large chunks, although thick, it's very soft and fluffy, a texture taro lovers will definitely enjoy

The other toppings are made in a very traditional way, all fresh and chewy

Although the shaved ice looks like a lot, because there are also many toppings underneath, 

When combined in one bowl, it turns out to be just right

Although this shop looks crowded

Because the turnover is fast, there will be seats soon
