This Changrong Beef Soup is a favorite spot for locals.
The small shop is located at the entrance of an alley on a street,
with no obvious sign, so it's easy to miss.
The sign is at the entrance under the arcade, just a small one.
Locals from nearby ride over for breakfast early in the morning.
There aren't many seats, and the tables and chairs look quite historic.
All seats are semi-outdoor, no air conditioning, but well ventilated.
The overall environment is very clean.
The menu here is simple, everything is beef-related.
The only exceptions are... white rice and minced pork rice.
But because this shop's minced pork rice is also famous,
many people used to come just for the minced pork rice, which wasn't worth it.
So now minced pork rice must be purchased with other items~
Some people even come specifically to buy minced pork to take home~
Their small kitchen is super clean.
Fresh beef is kept in the cabinet every day.
Beef soup is made to order.
The condiments on the table are very simple, the most traditional pairings.
Just chili bean paste / white vinegar / rice wine.
This set is the standard Tainan breakfast~
Their minced pork rice lives up to its reputation, with traditional Tainan flavor.
Rich and aromatic, with a sweet-savory sauce that's not overly salty.
It may look like there's a lot of fat, but it's all collagen and has a sticky texture.
The beef soup is also highly recommended.
The broth is super fresh and sweet, simmered with large bones and vegetables,
so it's a bit sweeter than other places, plus the freshness of the beef makes it delicious.
Xiluodian Beef Soup has a stronger beef flavor in the broth, and adding rice wine makes it even sweeter.
This shop's beef soup is best enjoyed straight; adding rice wine would ruin the original sweetness~~
In Tainan, there are plenty of beef soups to choose from.
Hidden local favorites that don't require queuing and taste great.
