On the first day of our Xiamen trip, we ate non-stop. After finishing Lianhuan Oyster Omelet, we immediately headed to the next stop for the must-try "Shacha Noodles" in Xiamen!
When it comes to Shacha Noodles, many people recommend "月華沙茶麵", and it's even a Michelin Guide restaurant!
After the savory dish, it was time for something sweet, so we walked nearby to "陳佳甜品". The two places are very close, making them perfect for a combined foodie itinerary.
月華沙茶麵 is hidden on Zhenbang Road, in a small alley near the bustling Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street in Xiamen. The shop is very small and has the warm feel of an old establishment.

There’s no fancy decor here; the indoor seating consists of just two or three small tables placed outside the shop entrance.
Even though eating noodles by the roadside in hot weather makes you sweat, sitting on the street watching people pass by while smelling the rich aroma of Shacha sauce gives it a truly local Xiamen vibe!
The menu here is simple: Shacha Noodles, Fish Ball Soup, and Roasted Pork Zongzi. The Shacha Noodles come in set combinations labeled "No. 1 to No. 11," making ordering straightforward.
You can also add extra toppings, with prices listed below the menu.

Since we wanted to try more local eats, we only ordered one bowl of No. 4, which included noodles, pork liver, lean meat, and dried tofu for RMB 22.
As soon as it arrived, the rich Shacha aroma filled the air, and the thick broth had a beautiful deep orange color.
One sip delivers the fragrant peanut flavor of Shacha, slightly spicy and sweet yet hearty. The noodles soaked up the broth perfectly, paired with crunchy pork liver, broth-absorbed dried tofu, and tender lean meat—every bite was indulgent and satisfying!
After the hot Shacha Noodles, what we needed most was a refreshing dessert to cleanse the palate. Just a two-minute walk later, we arrived at the time-honored "陳佳甜品".
The shop is small but has seating on the second floor as well, and the environment is clean and simple.

陳佳甜品 offers a rich menu, from various sago desserts and steamed milk puddings to nourishing Guilinggao. In winter, they also serve congee and soups.

Light Milk Guilinggao RMB 23
Guilinggao is the shop’s signature item! When served, the Guilinggao, light milk, and sugar water come in separate containers. The Guilinggao itself is very firm and authentically bitter. You then add the milk and sugar water to your liking.
After adding the milky aroma and sweetness, the bitterness transforms into a pleasant aftertaste, leaving you feeling refreshed and cooled down.
Mixed Fruit Sago RMB 17
Filled with fresh fruits like watermelon and chewy translucent sago pearls in a cool, sweet broth, it was the perfect way to beat the heat on a muggy Xiamen afternoon.
This "月華沙茶麵 + 陳佳甜品" combo cost us just over RMB 60, delivering a wonderfully layered taste experience.
From the rich, bold Michelin-recommended Shacha Noodles to the traditional nourishing desserts of a time-honored shop, wandering through the alleys in search of authentic flavors is one of the most enjoyable parts of travel.
