Besides soaking in hot springs and enjoying the sea views around Yangmingshan and Jinshan, there are actually quite a few impressive little shops hidden along the way. This time on Yangjin Highway, we unexpectedly discovered this low-key "田園蔬食餐坊" that’s easy to miss!
Tucked away on a small road beside Yangjin Highway, the exterior looks like a small restaurant built from corrugated iron sheets. Plus, they don’t just sell stir-fries; they also offer braised dishes and fresh fruits and vegetables for purchase. After your meal, picking up some mountain produce or fruit to take home is a great idea too!

Stepping into 田園蔬食餐坊, there’s no overly fancy decor—just a very down-to-earth, rustic farmhouse vibe.
The spacious interior features large round and square tables, ideal for family gatherings or groups of friends enjoying stir-fries. Dining here feels especially relaxing, like visiting a friend’s home in the mountains.
Besides made-to-order stir-fries, the shop also sells seasonal fruits and vegetables. After eating your fill, you can pick up some fresh local wild vegetables to take home— it’s just like browsing a farmer’s market!
田園蔬食餐坊 focuses on a wide variety of wild vegetable vegetarian dishes, with plenty of options priced around 100–200 yuan— very affordable.
In addition to common stir-fried greens, there are many rarer mountain vegetable dishes such as basil taro stem, goji greens, crown daisy, chuanchai, and various medicinal soups. They also offer braised items, fried noodles, fried snacks, and soups— more variety than expected.
Basil Taro Stem $180
This is a rare specialty dish and a childhood memory of mine! The taro stems are simmered until tender and fully infused with the rich aroma of basil. Salty and fragrant, it pairs perfectly with rice and has a smooth, nostalgic texture that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Goji Greens $150
Just hearing the name feels nourishing. The goji greens have a light fragrance and a tender yet slightly crisp texture. Stir-fried simply with goji berries and enoki mushrooms, it’s delicious and captures the natural essence of mountain cuisine.
Tomato with Double Eggs $200
The sweet-and-sour tomatoes pair with eggs, century eggs, and kimchi for a rich, layered flavor. The sauce is also great for mixing with rice.
Century Egg with Sweet Potato Leaves $150
Sweet potato leaves stir-fried with century egg are tender with no bitterness. The distinctive mellow flavor of the century egg blends into the stir-fry sauce, adding depth to this simple green dish.
Fried Rice + Egg $120
The fried rice grains are distinct and not greasy. What’s special is the addition of basil, giving it a rich herbal aroma that makes it especially delicious.
Sweet Potato & Taro Platter $100
We finished with this as a snack. The exterior is fried crispy, while the sweet potato and taro inside are soft and sweet. At this price, it’s perfect for sharing.
Though 田園蔬食餐坊 isn’t a fancy influencer-style spot, it has a pure, down-to-earth feel. The dishes follow a home-style stir-fry approach with good seasoning, a wide variety of wild vegetables, and affordable prices— no wonder it stays popular.
