Though the shop is small, it's always packed during mealtimes, and the seats inside are usually full! One bowl per person loaded with meat chunks of zhajiangmian, so satisfying!

Located in Taipei City's Songshan District, "Old Beijing Zhajiangmian" opened in 2014 and has over 10 years of history, quietly standing in the alley near Taipei Arena, drawing many foodies. The owner brought hometown dishes to Taiwan, sharing the nostalgic taste of northern noodles that he misses so much, now available for Taiwanese to enjoy.
If you haven't tried it, the price might seem a bit high compared to regular street noodle shops, but after one visit you'll change your mind.

The rich taste and texture are quite impressive. The zhajiang is completely different from what you usually get—full of bean aroma! Paired with heaps of pork chunks, the pork is fragrant without being greasy, the bean sauce is savory and hearty, the texture smooth, and finally topped with seemingly endless free cucumber shreds that refreshingly cut through the richness, making you want bite after bite nonstop.
