On our first day traveling in Fuzhou, besides visiting the famous Sanfang Qixiang, we also went to the lively "Daming Food Street" next door for dinner in the evening.
We thought it was just an ordinary food street, but it turned out to be even more bustling than expected. The entire street was packed with people, and the aromas of all kinds of delicious snacks kept wafting by, making us want to try everything! Daming Food Street is super close to Sanfang Qixiang, so it's perfect to visit together. Stroll the historic streets during the day and enjoy food at night—making for a smooth full-day itinerary.
Daming Food Street is located in Gulou District, Fuzhou City, connecting Yangqiao Road to the south and Guxi Road to the north. About 300 meters long, it gathers many local Fuzhou snacks and specialty dishes. It's right next to Sanfang Qixiang—exit from Nanhou Street, cross Yangqiao Road, and you're there. Very convenient.
By subway, take Fuzhou Metro Line 1 or Line 4 to "Dongjiekou Station," then walk to reach it. If you're staying in the city like us, taking a taxi is also very convenient, and fares in Fuzhou are cheap.

The Daming Food Street you see now is the upgraded new version. The street is planned more neatly than before, making it much more comfortable to stroll. After renovation, it is divided into three themed zones: "Bamin," "Taiwan," and "Southeast Asia," each with its own characteristics.
The Bamin themed zone highlights Fujian local culture and specialty cuisine, and you can also see Fuzhou boat design elements.
The Taiwan themed zone incorporates the imagery of Taipei 101 and Taiwanese snacks. Although it's a tourist-oriented food street, you can still feel a strong Fuzhou nightlife atmosphere while strolling.
Lingnan Beef Offal
The stall is full of braised beef offal, radish, and various ingredients that look incredibly tempting. The beef offal is stewed until tender, soaked with broth and full of aroma, even more enjoyable with green onions, cilantro, and chili.
Handmade Liangpi
On a hot day, a serving of liangpi is perfect. The chewy, smooth liangpi paired with sauce and various toppings is sour and spicy, very appetizing, with a refreshing texture.
Xinjiang Red Willow Skewers
Finally, before leaving, we sat down at this red willow skewer stall to enjoy. Besides ordering the large red willow lamb skewers, we also got small lamb skewers, plus corn and okra. What's special is that the corn skewers have kernels threaded one by one on bamboo sticks, making them super convenient to eat.
The lamb skewers here are grilled just right, with the cumin aroma perfectly masking any mutton smell. The solid texture gives a real presence with every bite.
When visiting Daming Food Street, we highly recommend pairing it with nearby Sanfang Qixiang. During the day, you can stroll the historic streets, photograph old buildings, and try Fuzhou snacks; then head to Daming Food Street for dinner or late-night snacks. The itinerary flows smoothly.
Additionally, the nearby Dongjiekou commercial area with department stores and malls makes shopping convenient too.
This visit to Daming Food Street feels perfect for independent travelers in Fuzhou. Not only is transportation easy, but you can try many Fuzhou and regional specialties all at once, in a lively atmosphere full of travel vibes.
