🌟Originally planned to visit the ramen shop recommended by a colleague, but upon checking, it was closing in just half an hour, so had to quickly switch to the next one. Unexpectedly, the next spot was packed with customers, feeling impossible to even squeeze through the door. Then passed another shop, also closing in half an hour, switched again, still full of crowds. Even though I deliberately chose off-peak hours to go out, I kept running into queues and full houses everywhere. It was like none of the places I wanted to eat at would serve me—how frustrating!!!
🌟After wandering in a big circle, I finally decided to try Asuka Ramen, which my sister had been recommending all along—the real star of today. When I arrived, the shop was also closing in half an hour, so standing at the door I hesitated a bit, but eventually mustered the courage to walk in. I was worried about being the last group, but then a couple followed right behind, instantly putting me more at ease. As long as you're not the very last group, the pressure of eating seems to ease up a little.
🌟Dine-in offers lemon water. It felt thoughtful when I first sat down, but the pitcher only had a tiny bit left, just enough for two small cups—fatefully leaving the last sip for us sisters. The lemon water tasted refreshing and paired nicely with the ramen, though there was no chance for refills afterward.
🌟This time I ordered the spicy miso ramen and the chicken white broth ramen. Both broths were rich and flavorful—bold on the first sip but not so salty that you needed constant water. The spiciness in the miso wasn't too intense, more about adding aroma, while the chicken broth was smoother with a thicker texture. The meat slices were also nicely tender.
🌟The soft-boiled egg was placed whole in the bowl without being cut open first. Eating it with the broth tasted great, though it missed that photogenic cut-open moment.
🌟Halfway through, another pair of brothers arrived, turning the shop into a quiet speed competition. On the surface everyone focused on their noodles, but secretly kept checking each other's progress to see who would finish first or leave last. In the end, we finished successfully at 8:55 PM, making a perfect exit before closing time.
