🌟This time we came to a café that my sister praised to the skies, saying it's "a must-visit to eat at least once". She probably came here seven or eight years ago, and was deeply impressed by the super large portions of the meals here, so this time she was really looking forward to bringing me to relive the memory.
🌟We each ordered a set meal: "Thai Lemon Sour Spicy Sauce Pineapple Shrimp Ball Pita", with crispy fries, and "Port Red Wine Mushroom Chicken Leg Teppanyaki Platter", with mini toast, plus an à la carte cup of premium Valrhona cocoa latte.
🌟When the meals arrived, my sister was stunned on the spot, because the portions were really worlds apart from what she remembered. I guess after seven or eight years, with rising prices, the portion sizes have probably been adjusted accordingly.
🌟The first to arrive was the Port Red Wine Mushroom Chicken Leg Teppanyaki Platter. At first glance it looked more refined in portion, and it seemed like you'd need the toast on the side to feel full. We had agreed to split both meals, but when I saw the chicken leg platter I almost wanted to back out—my sister insisted we couldn't.
🌟When the pineapple shrimp ball pita arrived and I took the first bite, I suddenly felt very grateful that my sister hadn't agreed to switch meals. The flavors were very layered—sour, sweet, spicy, and other tastes all mixed together—but it didn't quite suit my palate, so eating it was a bit of a struggle.
🌟The soup that came with the set was also quite special; all the ingredients inside seemed to have been blended together, giving it a fine, sandy texture when drinking. Some people might like this thick style, but I'm more used to soups that keep the ingredients in chunks, so it took a bit of getting used to.
🌟For the drink, the staff said they had no in-house cups available that day, so they used a takeaway cup instead. What was rather surprising was that the packaging looked a lot like the old-fashioned red tea bags from childhood, with the cup mouth secured by tape—overall it had quite a vintage feel, leaving us momentarily unsure how to describe it.
