When it comes to must-buy souvenirs in Taoyuan Guishan, many people think of "金時代專業烘培" first. This low-key bakery in Guishan District has no fancy decor or dazzling display cases, yet two types of bread have made it go viral online, becoming a hot topic in company group buys, mom communities, and food groups.
I had always been curious—what kind of bread would make people willing to travel all the way to Guishan just to queue up? This time I finally got the chance to visit in person, and after tasting it, I understood why so many people buy 20 loaves at a time. It really has an irresistible charm!
金時代專業烘培 is located on Section 1, Zhongxing Road, Guishan District, Taoyuan City, near the Guishan downtown shopping area. It’s about 10 minutes from Linkou Interchange, and around 20 minutes by car from Taoyuan Train Station—quite convenient.
Although the shop is small, there’s almost always a line at the door. You can spot this popular bakery from afar.
Just search "金時代專業烘培" in your navigation app. There are some street parking spots nearby, but they’re hard to find during peak hours. Consider parking at a nearby lot and walking over.

First-timers are often surprised. The shop is modest compared to typical bakeries—no packed display cases, no cakes or desserts.
The queue is simple: just order and pay at the counter. With only a few items, the line moves quickly—even with over ten groups ahead, you usually don’t wait long.
Only two breads but always a line? Surprisingly, 金時代專業烘培 sells just two items: French Chanson and Caterpillar Bread. These alone keep the shop extremely busy. When we visited in the afternoon, the Caterpillar Bread was already sold out, leaving only French Chanson.
French Chanson is 60 yuan each, with a daily limit of 20 loaves per person and only one purchase allowed. A notice is posted: “Daily limit 20 loaves, one purchase only.” The popularity is truly impressive.
When we arrived, the line wasn’t too long, but it never stopped. As one group left, new customers joined right away.
The most striking thing: almost everyone was ordering “20 loaves.” “20 loaves.” Watching people leave with big bags of bread felt like a wholesale scene.
Reminder: shopping bags cost extra. Many regulars bring their own eco-bags.
French Chanson has a beautiful golden crust. It looks simple and plain, without extra decoration, yet emits a rich milky aroma.
One bite explains its popularity. The bread is very soft with a slight chewy texture—not loose, but delicately elastic.
The signature creamy filling inside has a subtle salty note. The sweet-salty balance is perfect—not too sweet, never greasy, and very smooth. I thought I’d only eat half, but ended up finishing the whole loaf without realizing.
Storage: 2 days at room temperature, 7 days frozen. If buying many, freeze them. Reheat slightly when ready to eat—the aroma remains delightful.
I finally visited the legendary 金時代 French Chanson bread. I thought it was just another internet sensation, but after tasting it, I saw why it’s special. The soft, dense bread, lightly salted cream filling, and rich milk aroma are simple yet addictive. No wonder it has stayed popular for years.
If you’re in Taoyuan Guishan, stop by and try a few! Just remember to come early—peak hours sell out fast!
