Sujia Manor is located in Daxi, Taoyuan, next to Cihu. It is a popular multi-purpose leisure manor loved by families and animal enthusiasts. It not only offers rich natural scenery but also features a variety of gentle and adorable animals, allowing visitors to observe and interact with them up close in a spacious and comfortable environment. Unlike traditional large zoos, Sujia Manor stands out for its refined scale, high interactivity, and diverse animal species. It houses popular animals like raccoon dogs, chinchillas, and capybaras, and even kangaroos! No wonder it has become a top choice for weekend getaways in the Taoyuan area.
Full ticket is NT$200, senior ticket is NT$100, and parking fee is NT$100. Overall, it is reasonably priced. A NT$50 discount voucher is also provided, which can be used toward purchases inside the park.

Upon entering Sujia Manor, the first thing that catches your eye is the European-style architecture, which typically houses the restaurant and indoor exhibition areas. The nearest restrooms are also located here. It is recommended to take children to the restroom first, as restrooms within the park are spaced some distance apart. Following the signs will gradually lead you into the green animal zones.
The restaurant offers pasta, baked rice, light meals, fried items, coffee, and beverages, with prices ranging from NT$80 to NT$590. Don’t forget that your admission ticket can be used as a discount toward dining expenses!
Near the restaurant is an outdoor area with children’s play facilities, where little ones can have fun and burn off some energy.
It clearly marks the locations of various animal zones, the restaurant, restrooms, and entrances/exits, helping visitors plan their route. The park guide map is your best companion, clearly indicating areas such as the Cute Animal Zone, Natural Ecology Zone, and Waterside Zone. The park is quite large.
The origin of Sujia Manor is a story filled with passion and dreams. It is said that the owner is a nature and small-animal lover. Originally, the manor was used as a private collection and retreat. Over time, the owner wanted to share this beauty with more people, especially children growing up in the urban jungle, giving them a chance to experience real animals and nature. Thus, the private manor was gradually transformed into the current ecological education park. Sujia Manor also collaborates with National Chiayi University on industry-academia projects, demonstrating its professionalism and dedication to animal care and education.
A winding path inside Sujia Manor is lined with lush green trees, providing a cool atmosphere. In the distance, a European-style building catches our attention.
The park offers comfortable spaces under the shade for visitors to rest while enjoying the scenery. This is a great bonus for families with children.
The park features a cute purple bus modified into a “Chinchilla Bus” shape, with chinchilla patterns painted on the body. Inside, there are actually many chinchillas! Because chinchillas are sensitive to heat, the interior is kept cool with air conditioning. Visiting on a hot summer day with this cool air is truly comfortable.

These small and cute chinchillas, also known as chinchilla rats,
are beloved for their fluffy, soft fur and round, chubby bodies. Some run around inside the box, while others lazily bask in the sun. Each one is irresistibly cute, making it hard to look away.
Sujia Manor also features the popular star, Capybara. We were extremely lucky during our visit to see a baby capybara that was just two days old. It was tiny and incredibly adorable!!
They also eat grass provided by the park. If you receive some grass, you can feed them!
There is another café or light meal shop located roughly in the middle of the park, offering a variety of teas, coffee, specialty drinks, and light snacks such as “Tipsy Black Tea,” “Honey Black Tea,” “Black Coffee,” and “Cappuccino,” as well as desserts like “French Crème Brûlée.” This provides visitors with more dining options to enjoy a leisurely afternoon tea, and you can also use the park discount voucher here.
The manor features a fairly large aviary. In addition to many parrots, visitors can see various bird species. There is an area dedicated to raising ordinary chickens, with one chicken walking directly on the fence while other poultry swim or move on the ground below, showcasing a diverse ecological environment. The chickens here are not afraid of people.
The environment at Sujia Manor is beautiful and lush with greenery. The park is not small, and there are small bridges, flowing streams, and unique rock bonsai, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in natural beauty. Best of all, the entire park is well-maintained and clean, making it comfortable. However, some areas may be slightly challenging for stroller users, so extra caution is advised.
The rest areas in the park are cleverly designed with wooden pavilions blending seamlessly with the surrounding trees and stone scenery, providing a great place to relax. There are more than just one or two; the park has quite a few pavilions.
There is also a short riverside walkway inside the park for strolling. The stream flows gently beside it, with green trees lining both banks. Looking closely into the river, you can see stream fish, bringing a touch of coolness on hot days.
I stayed in the raccoon dog area for a long time because there are at least five raccoon dogs in the park. I’m not sure if raccoon dogs are nocturnal, but during our visit many were sleeping, while a few livelier ones played in the small pond within their habitat. They were incredibly cute.
Sujia Manor also has the popular meerkats. Seeing so many meerkats really excited me—I rarely see this many in one place! Every meerkat at Sujia Manor is full of energy. Because meerkats naturally have a habit of standing guard, we happened to see three meerkats standing in a row facing forward, seemingly scouting the surroundings. Their unique standing posture is an instinctive defensive behavior against predators and one of their cutest poses. They also stared at me, allowing me to capture adorable photos.
Next to the meerkats is a group of groundhogs, which are also quite adorable. Some stand upright in their habitat with their front paws together, as if praying. Their round bodies and innocent expressions always bring a smile. A few simply lie flat on the ground basking in the sun and resting, which made me spend a lot of time taking photos.
The park also has rare white kangaroos, with their snow-white fur and red eyes making them especially unique.
This sheep has a black face and legs, with its body covered in thick white wool. They are called “Smiley Sheep” because their facial expressions often give the impression of smiling. Almost all the animals popular at Yilan manors are here, and these animals can also be fed with food provided by the park.
The park has gentle and adorable mini horses. Their fluffy manes and petite size are loved by children, and even my mom adored them. She not only fed them grass but also reached out to pet the mini horse’s head. This mini horse is quite friendly toward people.
In addition to common macaws and peacocks, there are also rare species such as golden pheasants, mandarin ducks, and Mikado pheasants. I think they are truly special. What surprised me more was how lively and noisy the parrots here are! As soon as you pass by, they raise the feathers on their heads and squawk loudly. It’s really fun.
Sujia Manor provides free grass for visitors to feed some of the animals. This is truly a thoughtful service, allowing visitors to fully enjoy interacting with the animals. Although it was mentioned that only one bundle of grass is free, the park provides plenty of grass. Some visitors took more, but that’s up to individual conscience.
The park also has one of the world’s largest land tortoises—the Aldabra giant tortoise!
Their massive size and slow movements truly attract attention. It is said that these tortoises can live 150–200 years. They might still be around long after I’m gone.
The manor restaurant has a merchandise sales area, with one shelf stocked with products labeled “National Chiayi University R&D Products.” It is clear that the manor collaborates with academic institutions. The products may include agricultural specialties and cultural creative items. In addition to Chiayi University’s R&D products, there are various souvenirs and gifts such as coffee beans, tea, cultural creative goods, and plush toys, all of which can be purchased using the admission discount voucher.
One of the most attractive aspects of Sujia Manor is its more than 20 species of adorable animals, from the most popular capybaras, meerkats, raccoon dogs, and alpacas to rare chinchillas and white kangaroos, as well as various precious birds. The sheer variety is dazzling. Many animal areas are designed for close-up viewing and even feeding opportunities, greatly enhancing visitor participation and interactive experiences. For families with children, this is an invaluable educational opportunity, and even taking elders for a stroll can be very enjoyable.
