Coming to Hengchun Kenting for travel, I checked out the local gourmet spots, and the most representative local Taiwanese snack is this popular 【小觀山鹹粿】. This time we visited on a weekday, thinking we could avoid the holiday crowds and enjoy a leisurely afternoon snack time. But when we arrived and ordered, we discovered—it turns out the signature salty rice cake is not available on weekdays, only on weekends!

小觀山鹹粿's storefront has a strong local character, with green wooden walls and large yellow characters reading 「小觀山」, giving off a simple, nostalgic Taiwanese countryside vibe.

Bamboo fences and plants line the wall, and the indoor seating area offers views of the sea and sunset. In the evening, with a gentle breeze and traditional snacks, it truly has a relaxing vacation atmosphere.

Although missing the signature salty rice cake this time was a bit disappointing, since we were already here, we couldn't leave empty-handed! We ordered the locally popular rice sausage and sausage, and the flavors were surprisingly good!
