Yoga Chapter (chapter1)
I'm A Hao, 32 years old, a mid-level executive at a financial holding company in Taipei. Every day in a crisp suit, attending meetings, staring at reports—life as routine as a pre-programmed script.
I've been with my girlfriend Xiaoxiao for five years. Our relationship is stable like an old married couple, but that stability has turned our sex life into nothing but routine. Lately she's been complaining that my "waist is too stiff and my stamina is average."
Feeling frustrated, and with some extra vacation days from work, I splurged on a seven-day, six-night overwater villa trip to the Maldives—heard the sunrise yoga there builds core strength and improves couples' intimacy, maybe even fix "that part" of me.
After landing at Male Airport, we took a seaplane, engines roaring as we gazed over the endless Indian Ocean. The turquoise lagoon looked like God's spilled palette, coral islands ringed with white sand stretching one after another. Xiaoxiao leaned on my shoulder, squealing with excitement, while I was already imagining how thrilling this trip could be.
Our stay at "Sunrise Lagoon Resort" is in North Ari Atoll, in the exclusive overwater villa area. Opening the villa door reveals a glass floor with schools of tropical fish swimming beneath.
The private infinity pool connects directly to the sea, two hammocks hang on the wooden deck, and the sunset paints the entire lagoon in golden-orange hues. The air is filled with salty sea breeze, coconut oil, and tropical flower scents. The temperature stays at 28°C, humidity so high your skin feels sticky, like it's ready to sweat at any moment.
