Tao Si Chu is a local specialty dining brand from Taoyuan. What makes it unique is its fusion of traditional teppanyaki cooking techniques with trendy brunch culture, offering a distinctive style of teppanyaki breakfast

Tao Si Chu originally started with its Zhongshan branch in Taoyuan and has since opened multiple locations, including the Yiwen Store, Nankan Store, Bade Fengde Store, as well as the Ciyun Store and Zhubei Store in Hsinchu

The exterior of Tao Si Chu Yiwen Store features warm wooden tones paired with brick walls and cute patterned fabric drapes hanging from the ceiling, resembling a welcoming Japanese street-side eatery. The few waiting chairs outside are always filled with people eager to get in — many are happy to queue just to try it

Stepping inside, the fresh and bright space instantly lifts your mood. The decor adopts a Japanese light-industrial style with natural wood tables and chairs, cheerful egg-yolk yellow walls, and soft lighting that creates a warm and cozy dining atmosphere

The most impressive feature is the semi-open transparent kitchen!

While waiting for your meal, you can clearly see the chefs busy at work on the teppanyaki grill through the glass window. Fresh ingredients sizzle on the hot plate, releasing mouthwatering aromas — yet somehow, there's no annoying oily smoke

Tao Si Chu Menu

The menu at Tao Si Chu Yiwen Store offers a wide variety of choices, including various brunch plates, Danish toast, crispy egg pancakes, teppanyaki stir-fried noodles, and even burgers and thick toast desserts. Whether you prefer Chinese or Western flavors, you'll find something you love here

Especially their "Premium Brunch Plate" series and various "Teppanyaki Lunch" options (available after 11 AM) — they're definitely worth trying

Seared Snow Beef with Scrambled Eggs on Teppanyaki Stir-Fried Noodles

The noodles are stir-fried on the teppanyaki grill until they absorb the special sauce, making them incredibly flavorful. Paired with tender snow beef slices, the sweet juices from the beef blend perfectly with the smoky aroma from the grill. The addition of crisp bean sprouts, green scallions, and red pepper strips not only adds texture but also balances the overall flavor. This dish is generously portioned and truly satisfying

Pan-Seared Boneless Chicken Thigh Rice

The plate is filled with a variety of ingredients, including a perfectly fried sunny-side-up egg. When you slice into it, the semi-runny yolk flows out and blends beautifully with the other toppings. Alongside are golden, crispy-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside potato cubes and an assortment of grilled vegetables like broccoli, sweet baby corn, and tender zucchini — balancing nutrition and adding vibrant color

The plate also features golden, crispy fried chicken pieces with thin, crunchy skin. One bite releases juicy chicken flavor, and finishing the whole plate leaves you completely full

Deep-Fried Tangyuan (Flower Moon Round)

Don't miss this surprising dessert! It's one of my favorite sweets from banquets. The deep-fried tangyuan, coated with peanut and sesame powder, has a chewy exterior and a rich filling. The different powders bring a variety of aromas and textures — sweet but not cloying. I really enjoy it

While the prices at Tao Si Chu Yiwen Store are slightly higher than traditional breakfast shops, considering the teppanyaki cooking technique, fresh ingredients, generous portions, and elegant plating, the overall value is quite high. Especially the experience of enjoying professional-level teppanyaki dishes in a brunch setting — it's truly worth every penny
