This onsen hotel's meals are truly abundant, so it takes two posts to fully introduce them~~
Both dinner and breakfast are served in the basement restaurant,
The dining space is very spacious,
Near the entrance, there are many alcoholic beverages,
These require additional payment; for 2,280 yen per person, you can enjoy unlimited drinks
There is a wide selection of alcohol, including two types of red wine, five types of sake from four breweries, which can also be heated,
There are also several Japanese fruit wines or flavored fruit wines, and of course, a beer dispenser
The dining area inside is super spacious, with several sections, so it's never crowded
The buffet area and children's seats are in the middle of the dining zone and can be accessed freely
Because the dining area is so large, after eating you need to take your dishes to the return rack yourself
Free drinks are only available from this beverage machine,
But it includes juice, soda, tea, and ice cubes on the side that you can add yourself
The food serving area is huge, with a central island section and a made-to-order area on the side,
It is recommended to walk around first to see what you want to eat, then go get it to save time and avoid queues
Starting from the central island area, there are already tons of choices,
Each dish has a small sign explaining it
There aren't many types of salads, but there is potato salad and seaweed, which are very healthy
Powdered round is recommended here because they have many local specialty dishes, all of which taste good,
The fried pork cutlet inspired by Takaoka Great Buddha is very crispy and delicious
Freshly steamed chawanmushi is super popular; be careful as it's hot
Buri daikon simmered dish has great umami flavor
The hot dishes focus more on local ingredients and flavors
Local oden, lotus root and chicken simmered, stir-fried noodles, pork meatballs, mapo tofu
Cold appetizers are also a must at Japanese buffets
Seasoned lotus root and vinegar-marinated onion with foie gras are both refreshing
Surprisingly, you can make your own Toyama ramen here, and it's served in a small bowl—definitely worth trying
Squid risotto paired with Toyama Prefecture's white rice curry is also delicious
This local specialty from Toyama Prefecture is similar to miso vegetable stew,
It contains locally grown small taro and fried tofu skin—super delicious, must try
The dinner also includes some Western dishes; the large baked meat sauce spaghetti is quite authentic,
French fries and karaage chicken are also good
There is a local specialty here: salmon oshi sushi—worth trying if you like salmon
Besides the central island, there is also a freshly cooked area on the side, which is also very crowded
Especially the sushi area, which has long lines at first—it's better to come later
Today's sashimi is tuna sashimi, very delicate and fresh,
Sweet shrimp is also super delicious and popular cold dish
Paired with their recommended sweet soy sauce, it tastes even fresher and sweeter
Seasonal limited fresh fish oshi sushi is also worth trying
Nigiri sushi is also popular, including salmon, fresh shrimp, and squid nigiri
The salmon has less fat, so it's average
Powdered round recommends the grilled items more, as the freshly pan-fried miso pork is delicate and tasty,
Powdered round couldn't help but eat it three times~~
The fried food area also has freshly fried vegetables, including lotus root, green pepper, and sweet potato—all crispy and delicious
You can take some grated daikon and tempura soup yourself
The dessert area has apple jelly with a whole piece of pickled apple on top,
There is also red bean pudding; the small cakes are a bit ordinary
Fern jelly and almond tofu are highly recommended
In the corner, there is also soft serve and ice cream
Next to the soft serve, there are breakfast cereals and various syrup flavors to pair with
The ice cream freezer only has chocolate and strawberry,
But both flavors are rich and delicious—highly recommended
Just before leaving, I discovered they even have baby weaning food—truly thoughtful Japanese service
This hotel's dinner is really excellent, and breakfast is also great,
I'll introduce breakfast in the next post
