One of Japan's Three Strange Bridges ~ Iya Kazurabashi in Miyoshi City
Located in the Nishiiya Mountain Village of Miyoshi City, "Iya Kazurabashi" is one of Japan's three strange bridges.
When we got off the tour bus, we could see a souvenir shop right next to it.
The guide arranged for us to shop after coming back up, so we wouldn't have to carry big and small bags down to see the bridge.
After walking a short distance, some of the roadside leaves had already turned red, and the street view felt very beautiful.
From afar, we saw a bridge and guessed if it was Kazurabashi, but it wasn't.
We still had to cross another bridge and walk further down.
Standing on the bridge and looking down, the one with vines and a river is the real one.
The scenery is truly beautiful.
A marble plaque with Japanese introduction to Iya Kazurabashi.
The stone paths and wooden railings along the way also have a special artistic feel.
Finally arrived at the vine bridge entrance, with tons of people waiting to cross. The bridge probably has a weight limit.
Crossing the bridge requires a ticket fee.
The small wooden hut next to it is the ticket booth.
Japanese tickets usually feature scenic photos, and they're beautiful to collect.
When crossing the bridge, you really have to be careful. The gaps are huge, so hold onto your phone and belongings tightly— if they fall, you won't get them back.
Impressive how those wearing high heels manage it; it feels like dancing on a knife's edge, one wrong step and you'd miss.
The guide also said they'd stand on another bridge to take photos for us, but it was too far.
The view under the bridge is also beautiful—one side full of green rocks, the other with lovely green lake water.
Spanning 45 meters, the bridge itself is made from 5 tons of vines. Stepping on it makes a sound and feels thrilling, with thoughts of the bridge breaking flashing through your mind. Luckily, we crossed safely.
Back up top, had a strawberry to calm the nerves—delicious.
