Imabari Must-Buy Souvenirs~Local Specialty Towels~Imabari Towel Museum

The most famous specialty in Imabari is towels. When you come to Imabari in Ehime, you absolutely must buy towels, because once you use them, it's said you can't go back to ordinary towels.

Today's itinerary takes us to visit the Towel Museum, where towels meet art.

Next to it are cute Moomin figures and beautiful flower beds.

Upon entering, the guide introduced us and specifically warned not to buy towels here, because many towels with cute patterns are actually made in China or Vietnam. If you want to buy, look for the Imabari-made towel label to avoid mistakes.

The first floor has cute towel dolls.

Skipping the souvenir shop on the first floor, the guide took us straight to the fourth floor to buy tickets. The main highlight is the fourth floor; the towel gift shops on floors 1–3 can be browsed slowly, but don't buy here.

The fourth floor displays various cute towel patterns.

Some works are huge in scale.

It feels like really strolling through an art museum viewing different paintings.

There are many cute cartoon IPs.

It gives the feeling of entering a fairy-tale house.

Like Snoopy.

Childhood memories of Moomin, now called Moomin.

Never seen such large and colorful towels before

Even framed.

Even the view outside the windows here looks like a fairy-tale town.

A clever design: inside the transparent glass floor are rolls of towel yarn balls.

Like stepping into an art studio.

It even has a homey feel.

Some areas allow photos for check-ins.

The walls also feature various yarn balls.

Three-dimensional cartoon character scenes in each room are super cute, and you can even walk inside for photos.

The endlessly extending towel wall is super long.

After the cute style in the first half, the second half shifts to the industrial feel of how machines weave fabric.

The interesting thing is that even with the same color yarn, somehow patterns appear after weaving.
