🌟This dessert shop has actually been open for a long time, and I've had it on my bucket list for a while. The funniest part is that the store name is the same as my IG, so when I saw it, I felt like “I have to try it, or it would be a waste.” You could say fate delivered it right to me, so of course I had to make plans.
🌟Originally our plan was simple: eat lunch next door first, then come straight here for dessert. But after ordering at Susie, we found out desserts only start being served at 12:30. So we decided to go next door for brunch instead, but it was fully packed. Suddenly we were stuck in the awkward situation of having ordered dessert but having nowhere to eat lunch.
🌟Luckily there was a Cherry Tree nearby. Although it was also full, there happened to be a four-person table with only one person sitting there. We awkwardly asked if we could share the table, and fortunately the other person was very nice. Just like that we found a spot for lunch. The food came out very quickly, and we ate at lightning speed like we were rushing between events. Timing worked out perfectly.
🌟Right at 12:30 we returned to Susie on time. We thought since service starts at this specific time, we would get our desserts quickly. But we waited until 12:42 before the desserts slowly appeared. At the time we kept telling ourselves maybe they were baking and making everything fresh inside, so it just needed a little extra time.
🌟When the desserts finally arrived, the fillings were cold and the crusts weren't freshly baked hot. We couldn't help wondering what mysterious process had taken place during those ten-plus minutes. All we can say is the shop operates at its own pace. People with little patience might want to switch to afternoon-tea mode and just relax while waiting.
🌟That said, everything we tried was quite delicious, and the sweetness was well controlled—no cloying sweetness that makes you reach for water. The lemon tart filling tasted a bit like lemon ice cream, cool and refreshing. The acidity and sweetness were perfectly balanced, not so sour it makes you wince, and not overly sweet.
🌟Overall the desserts are high quality, and the taste was much more reassuring than the waiting process. However, this place is better suited for when you're not in a rush, otherwise it might feel a bit stressful.
