Every time we travel, we always like to arrange a short trip with attractions + food, walk around and then find a special restaurant to eat, making the journey even more wonderful.
Yilan Yuanshan's 'Wanglong Pi' is a walking spot I really like, this time visiting, we discovered a characteristic restaurant next to the lake with an interesting name and a warm space called 'Zhu Long Zhai Kiln-Baked Pizza'.
This place is not just for eating delicious food, but also a space full of stories.
After eating, you can still take a walk by Wanglong Pi lake, enjoying the lake view and the beautiful Japanese maple scenery, very suitable for arranging as a relaxed half-day trip in Yilan.
Zhu Long Zhai Kiln-Baked Pizza's location is very easy to find, right next to the entrance of Wanglong Pi attraction.
The store name 'Zhu Long Zhai' is a homophone for 'pigsty', because its former site was an abandoned pigsty!

Walking into the store, you will feel a strong old-fashioned atmosphere.
The store cleverly retains the old building structure, transforming it into a uniquely styled dining space.
Here is divided into indoor and outdoor areas, the indoor is warm and has a bit of retro nostalgic feel, without luxurious decorations, but with a very natural rural atmosphere.
Outdoor allows you to directly breathe in Yuanshan's good air, the overall atmosphere is very relaxing.
The store has quite a few meal options, mainly featuring handmade kiln-baked pizza and kiln-baked bread, as well as warming hot pots and various specialty drinks.
• Minimum Consumption: One drink or one meal per person (under 110cm exempt), very suitable for family guests.
• DIY Experience: If you have time, you can do pizza DIY here, knead the dough and add ingredients yourself, which is a very rewarding experience for children.

We ordered a 'Piggy Pizza Set', and additionally added a few dishes, the portion is actually quite sufficient.
Piggy Pizza Set contents include:

The overall combination is quite rich, only 490 yuan, great value for money!
Classic Beef Pizza
This pizza has toppings: beef, onion, bell pepper, black pepper.
The pizza is in a kiln-baked thin crust style, with the crust edges slightly crispy and charred, the texture is crunchy.
The beef paired with black pepper is full of aroma, plus the sweetness of onion and bell pepper, the flavor layers are very good.
Hawaiian Pizza
Another one we ordered separately is the classic Hawaiian flavor, the combination of ham and pineapple is sour and sweet, refreshing, and kids love it too.
The kiln-baked pizza crust has a bit of chewiness, eating it hot is really fragrant.
Aromatic Milk Pot
Besides pizza, the store also has hot pots to choose from.
This milk pot has a rich and smooth broth, paired with vegetables and hot pot ingredients, the taste is warm and not greasy.
For drinks and desserts, we ordered: Latte, chocolate milk, and scone
The drinks are quite large, with beautiful latte art, having a dessert and drink after the meal is just right, perfectly ending this meal.
When we were dining, we happened to encounter bread coming out of the oven, that aroma is really tempting.
However, the bread on site was almost all pre-ordered, I originally wanted to take one home, but the flavor I wanted to eat still needed to wait a while, so I'll leave it for next time.
After eating, take a walk to the nearby Wanglong Pi lakeside, the environment by the lake is quite serene, the path is flat and easy to walk, very suitable for a stroll after a meal.
When we came, we could still see the beautiful Japanese maple scenery, with the lake reflecting the red tree shadows, very pretty.
If you come to Yilan Yuanshan, Wanglong Pi area for a tour, I highly recommend arranging to dine at Zhu Long Zhai Kiln-Baked Pizza.
After eating, take a walk by the lake, it's a very leisurely short trip.
