When traveling to Shaoxing and craving authentic Shaoxing cuisine, we recommend "Jianhu · Yue Banquet" inside Junlan · Shaoxing Jianhu Grand Hotel in Keqiao District. The new Chinese-style garden architecture is full of texture, allowing you to enjoy Huadiao Immortal Chicken, Braised Pork with Preserved Mustard Greens, Shaoxing Three Stinks, Assorted Preserved Goods Platter, and various river-fresh soups all at once. After the meal, you can also visit Keyan Scenic Area and Luzhen!
When traveling to Zhejiang's Shaoxing, besides visiting ancient towns, water towns, and historical sites, the most enjoyable part is savoring local specialties! Shaoxing cuisine is full of character—yellow wine, preserved mustard greens, preserved goods, river-fresh ingredients, and the "Shaoxing Three Stinks" that both excite and intimidate out-of-town visitors—are all signature flavors.
This "Jianhu · Yue Banquet" left a deep impression: a table featuring Immortal Chicken, Braised Pork with Preserved Mustard Greens, and Shaoxing Three Stinks not only fills the stomach but brings Shaoxing's food culture straight to the table!
"Jianhu · Yue Banquet" opened at the end of 2023. Designed around Jianhu's landscapes and ancient Yue culture, the dark-toned building is paired with expansive water features, rocks, and mist. The black pool reflects the restaurant's large characters, creating a modern, understated new Chinese style that feels grand and photogenic.
The hotel is near Keyan Scenic Area and Luzhen, situated between Keqiao New District and Shaoxing's old town, making it very convenient for meal stops.
Shaoxing cuisine emphasizes "fresh, saucy, moldy, fermented, and drunken." This multi-person set meal is truly abundant.
Picking up the two-tone mini steamed buns from the edge brings a pleasant surprise—they're not solid; the bottom is hollow like a hat. Wrapping the pork belly inside creates a sweet-salty combination, essentially a Shaoxing-style gua bao!
If you want to experience Shaoxing's food culture in one meal, "Jianhu · Yue Banquet" is the top choice. We highly recommend the Braised Pork with Preserved Mustard Greens paired with mini steamed buns, while Shaoxing Three Stinks offers a rare taste of local culture. Combined with the stunning Oriental garden views and excellent ambiance, it's highly recommended to include in your Keyan and Luzhen itinerary!
