One of Japan's Three Most Beautiful Gardens ~ Okayama Korakuen
Okayama Korakuen is listed alongside Kenrokuen in Kanazawa and Kairakuen in Ibaraki Prefecture as one of Japan's three great gardens.
The tour guide led us a short distance.
After the guide buys the tickets, we can enter.
A sea of green comes into view.
The wooden gate sign feels like entering a paradise town.
At the entrance there are map guide brochures; you can probably spend 1–2 hours inside strolling and taking photos.
The garden's plants and trees are all beautifully maintained.
Winding paths lead into Korakuen; turning right takes you deeper into the large garden, while turning left offers views of the beautiful red-crowned cranes—or you can still see them after completing the loop to the right.
The buildings nearby are also open for visitors; they look wonderful even just for photos.
Vast lawns.
A serene man-made lake.
And a poetic little bridge.
Adorable koi carp are also kept inside.
Most fun of all, I saw a koi leap out of the water—it felt like a good omen.
Climbing the small hill offers a panoramic view of the large garden's scenery.
Truly worthy of being one of Japan's three great gardens, Okayama Korakuen preserves the elegance of the Edo period, with every corner meticulously designed and maintained.
Strolling through the ingeniously designed strolling garden is incredibly relaxing.
The pond is tranquil.
The patchwork stone slabs used as a stone bridge are quite unique.
The little tree is adorable, leaning to one side.
Small bridges, flowing water, and houses—full of poetic atmosphere.
The trees on the side also welcome visitors in rows; when the wind blows, leaves scatter across the ground—super beautiful.
The red-crowned cranes are kept behind iron railings; surprisingly, each one is a Taurus—perhaps it's their breeding season.
