Following the navigation to Lane 970, Henggong Road, Hootriptown is located in a relatively quiet alley. As night falls, its facade stands out under the lights.
The deep green walls paired with golden old-Shanghai style lettering “虎炊稻”, and the row of retro round bulbs above, seem to announce that a spectacular magical party is about to begin. The “Uber Eats” sticker on the door means friends who are too lazy to drive can also have it delivered to their hotel—very convenient.

Look at the caramel-colored skin (the restaurant even thoughtfully tied it with string to preserve its perfect shape), paired with the amber-glossy braising sauce—truly mouthwatering. The Dongpo pork is braised to perfection, with Q-textured skin and tender meat that melts in the mouth. Paired with the bok choy underneath, it cuts the richness and whets the appetite—a perfect score for both visuals and taste buds.
A classic Taiwanese stir-fry that truly tests the chef’s skill.
Hootriptown’s stir-fried clams are impeccable—each clam is plump and juicy, fully absorbing the garlic, basil, and sweet sauce. This is definitely a “rice killer” that makes you want bite after bite.
