Super popular high-quality Taiwanese teahouse restaurant ~ Xin Yue Shi Cha

In Kaohsiung's Wenshan Special District, there's a restaurant with a green signboard that feels like it's selling Hong Kong-style dim sum, but it's actually a Taiwanese cuisine teahouse restaurant - Xin Yue Shi Cha, serving Chinese kung fu dishes.

Even on weekdays, the lunch crowd fills up—seems pretty delicious.

Lunch features set meals, different from dinner where you can order individual combination dishes. Since we were there for lunch, we turned the main courses (meat) into combination dishes.

The milk tea is so good—rich and creamy.

Apple juice with a slice of apple added.

We added seafood fried noodles to share with the fried rice.

The seafood fried noodles are loaded with ingredients—plenty of squid, clams, and fresh shrimp.

The fried rice is also very fragrant.

Small plates of cabbage, bitter melon, and pickled sweet tomatoes—almost everyone had two or three plates, as they come with the set meal for each person.

For the main courses, everyone ordered something different, so we got to try a variety of signature dishes—super satisfying.

Stir-fried water bamboo shoots with beef.

Pork ribs.

Three-cup chicken.

Popcorn chicken.

Kung Pao chicken.

You can also upgrade the white rice to lard rice with a poached egg.

The à la carte radish cake is crispy on the outside and soft inside.

The steamed egg is smooth and easy to eat.

Finally, dessert—baked crème brûlée. It was truly satisfying; the rich and creamy baked crème brûlée from Sweet Grandma was so good we finished it in no time.

Every dish is high quality with excellent flavor. This is a restaurant we'd definitely visit again.
