Located in Fanlu Township, Chiayi County, right beside Renyi Tan Lake, "Yilitan" is a dining space centered on a philosophy of healthy eating, blending local terroir with natural scenery.
"Yilitan" features a simple, bright indoor space. The restaurant's design style uses warm wood tones and natural rattan furniture to create a rustic yet comfortable Japanese-inspired ambiance.
The most captivating feature of Yilitan is its outdoor viewing platform. It offers a near-270-degree panoramic view, capturing the tranquil waters of Renyi Tan in Chiayi and the surrounding rolling mountain scenery.
In terms of cuisine, Yilitan specializes in Tajie Pot dishes, a healthy-oriented cuisine that perfectly combines health, deliciousness, and the art of cooking. The Tajie Pot set meal includes an aperitif drink, fresh salad, seasonal pickles, Tajie Pot vegetable assortment, daily soup, fragrant rice, main course (choice of nine), seasonal fruit, and an after-meal drink.
Yilitan's Tajie Pot set meal is served course by course in sequence, creating a ritualistic dining experience that allows guests to focus on the details and flavors of each dish while adding an elegant atmosphere. The meal begins with a honey chia seed drink, its refreshing taste setting the stage for the culinary journey ahead.
Next comes the mixed green salad, featuring fresh greens accented with bright red cherry tomatoes, while crunchy cashews and smooth kelp strips add layers of texture and flavor.
The seasonal pickles served that day wrap fresh seafood ingredients in romaine lettuce leaves, drizzled with Thai salsa sauce for a tangy, spicy, and refreshing taste experience.
Following that, the Tajie Pot vegetable assortment, daily soup, fragrant rice, and main course are served together.
Yilitan's signature Tajie Pot gathers a variety of seasonal vegetables including broccoli, pumpkin, baby corn, carrot, red and yellow bell peppers, tomato, and wood ear mushrooms. Using a small amount of olive oil and sea salt, the unique Tajie Pot cooking method fully releases the natural sweetness of the ingredients, allowing diners to enjoy their pure, fresh flavors without heavy seasoning.
The main course "Steamed Sea Bass Fillet" is garnished with bright red goji berries, vibrant green scallions, and delicate ginger strips, creating an appetizing color combination. The sea bass, after being steamed, perfectly showcases its tender texture and sweet flavor.
The daily soup is also hearty, featuring a small drumstick and sliced shiitake mushrooms in a warm, savory broth.
For dessert, the wax apples have been thoughtfully sliced into easy-to-eat pieces, with a sprinkle of plum powder on the side so guests can dip according to preference, adding a salty-sweet note to the crisp sweetness.
The final after-meal drink offers three choices: high-mountain tea, Alishan coffee, or a caffeine-free option. Choosing Alishan coffee that day, Yilitan's Alishan hand-poured coffee displayed delicate fruity acidity accompanied by clear sweetness, with a long-lasting aftertaste that lingered in the throat.
