This restaurant has been on Fen Yuan's pocket list for a long time
But due to mismatched timing, there was never a chance to eat here
Here Hai is a famous Michelin-recommended restaurant in Bangkok, listed for 7 consecutive years
Because their crab fried rice is affordable and delicious, the place is packed during meal times
Fen Yuan arrived this time right when the store opened on a weekday afternoon, so no need to queue
They open at 5:30 PM; if you don't want to queue, it's recommended to arrive around 5:20
Although this is a small local shop, they do accept credit cards
The decor at the entrance is very minimalist, directly displaying the stickers for 6 consecutive years of Michelin recommendations
The dining area inside isn't large; the front half on the first floor and the second floor at the back
The interior has simple decor, basically a traditional two-story Thai house converted into a restaurant
The menu has quite a few dishes; the cover features a photo of the founder
This restaurant specializes in seafood dishes, the most famous being crab meat fried rice
They also have some shrimp dishes now
Each person gets a plate and two sauces
When eating in Thailand, everyone gets their own plate for sharing dishes
The sauce on the left is super spicy and pairs well with seafood
The one on the right is more like fish sauce soy sauce
1. Coke: ฿20
Thailand is really too hot; you must pair food with drinks
The drinks here are reasonably priced
Not only bottled soda, but also served with ice!!
2. Thai Crab Fried Rice (for 2): ฿525
As expected, it's the signature dish; the crab meat is fresh, sweet, and springy
The fried rice grains are distinct and have great wok hei,
Paired with crab, it's savory and aromatic with seafood notes—delicious
3. Fish Sauce Cabbage with Fried Pork Skin: ฿150
This vegetable is a bit greasy but has good wok flavor,
There's quite a lot of pork skin on top~~
5. Garlic Black Pepper Mantis Shrimp (no rice): ฿440 + fried egg ฿10
This mantis shrimp is a great deal; one plate has 10 pieces, already peeled, very convenient
Although not large, the meat is quite delicate
Paired with plenty of stir-fried garlic, it feels a bit like typhoon shelter style
The more you eat, the more fragrant it gets; the only downside is it doesn't seem made to order, so not very hot
Thought adding egg would be something special, but it turned out to be just a soft-boiled egg....
If you didn't order rice, probably no need to add egg
At this restaurant's price point, it's really very affordable,
No wonder it's always packed
Arrive early during meal times, otherwise you'll really have to queue for a long time
