斗六誠基洋食 is jointly operated by the Chen couple, the founders. The couple previously worked at a chain vegetarian restaurant, and after their son was born, they decided to embark on an entrepreneurial journey together.
The name "誠基" follows the name of the late father's former snack shop, carrying meaning of inheritance and commemoration for the couple. As for "洋食," it is because the restaurant offers not only Japanese cuisine but also Western dishes such as pasta and risotto, hence the name "誠基洋食." The overall menu is quite diverse, including both meat and vegetarian options, allowing guests with different dietary preferences to dine together.
Upon entering 誠基洋食, one can feel a bright and comfortable dining atmosphere. The restaurant space features light wood tones as the main theme, with walls, tables, chairs, and cabinets exuding a natural, warm wooden feel, complemented by blue-gray circular line patterns on the ceiling and wall decorations, adding a sense of design to the overall space. The round light fixtures on the ceiling echo the geometric lines, keeping it simple yet not monotonous.
The seating arrangement inside is also quite spacious, suitable for gatherings with friends or family meals.
誠基洋食 has a small corner that makes people take a few extra glances. The display cabinet features many cute collectibles, including Pop Mart blind box figures and a One Piece Portgas D. Ace model.
Additionally, there is the classic manga Slam Dunk complete set neatly arranged in the cabinet, which should be quite interesting for manga fans. Whether the manga is available for guests to browse was not specifically asked that day, so please follow the store's on-site rules.
誠基洋食 offers a rich variety of menu choices.

First up is the Nut Cucumber. The cucumber is cut into bite-sized pieces, with the center flesh removed, then drizzled with sesame sauce and sprinkled with mixed crushed nuts.
The cucumber itself is crisp and juicy, and with the sesame sauce, it gains a rich sesame aroma. Adding plenty of mixed crushed nuts gives a crunchy texture in each bite.
The refreshing cucumber pairs smoothly with the aromatic sesame sauce; those who enjoy vegetable side dishes might want to give it a try.
This time we ordered the General Tso's Chicken Set Meal. When the set meal arrives, the main dish comes with rice, soup, a drink, and various side dishes, with generous portions and sides that look quite abundant.
General Tso's Chicken is made with chicken thigh coated in flour and deep-fried, then tossed in a sauce with sweet and savory flavors and a slight spicy kick.
The fried chicken has a crispy exterior, and the sauce adds more flavor, with a hint of spice amid the sweet and savory notes, making it great to enjoy with rice.
If you like chicken dishes with layered flavors and a bit of spice, this General Tso's Chicken set meal is worth considering.
Besides the main dish, this set meal also comes with plenty of side dishes. The sides served that day included:
One set meal offers a variety of flavors, from refreshing vegetables and pickled sides to tamagoyaki, paired with the main dish for a meal that doesn't feel monotonous.
